More About Coach Kz
At just 26 years old, I am transitioning away from competitive basketball due to injuries, but I'm excited to return to Stanford University to finish my undergraduate degree. Despite stepping away from playing professionally, my passion for the game remains strong, and I continue to stay involved in the sport through training and some mentorship. I’ve had the privilege of working with the talented kids from my hometown’s Puma-sponsored AAU team, the Juice County Players, based in Orange County. My role involved not only helping players develop their basketball skills but also mentoring them both on and off the court. Additionally, I contributed to the Miye Oni Basketball Camp, assisting in coaching and organizing events designed to develop the next generation of players.
Beyond that, I’ve stayed closely connected to my roots by helping out at my old high school, Esperanza High in Anaheim, California. Assisting with their basketball program, I’ve worked with both the junior varsity and varsity teams, helping to improve their techniques, strategies, and overall game mindset. Whether running drills or offering guidance during tough moments, I’ve enjoyed being part of the community and giving back to the school that helped shape my passion for basketball.
High School:
Led Esperanza High School to their first-ever (CIF) championship
2x Crestview League Player of the Year
All time leading scorer
All time leading rebounder
All time Game High (46 pts)
College:
1x PAC 12 player of the week
All PAC 12 First Team
Professional:
32nd Draft Pick Selection
3 years with the Miami Heat
2 years with the Sacramento Kings
My main thing will be to teach a player how to work like a professional! This will translate to all aspects of one’s life. I’m emphasizing robotic training meaning as soon as they step on the court they are perfecting the are of controlling what you can. Body language on every make or miss is the same! I am detail oriented and brutally honest. Every session will be black and white. I also adapt knowing not everyone moves the same. God given ability and genetics definitely play a part so my ability to assess a kids potential through communication of what feels comfortable mixed with my experience and eye for movement will quickly unlock potential.
