More About Coach Kevin
I have been professionally coaching for 6 years and am the Head Coach/Owner of Stronger Faster Fitness. I have worked at the collegiate level (University of North Carolina Asheville) and owned several gyms. I coach at the Ogre Compound, one of the most prestigious private strength gyms in the USA. It is home to many national and world record holders. With 3 monolifts, 4 squat racks, 2 competition benches, a reverse hyper, dumbells up to 200lbs, kettlebells to 108lbs, hammer strength equipment and over 40 specialty bars there isn't anything we can't do. My clients and athletes include teenage soccer players, professional powerlifters, doctors, musicians, grandmothers tons of people who just want to be fit. As well as being a Strength and Conditioning Coach, Powerlifting Coach and Personal Trainer, I am also a Certified CrossFit Coach. No matter what your goals I have the tools and know how to get you there.
My biggest accomplishment to date is qualifying for the 2015 GPC World Powerlifting Championship. I coach and lift on the Stronger Faster Powerlifting Team. Two of my female lifters hold national push pull records in their divisions - I consider that to be my most important accomplishment. Collegiately I played soccer for Warren Wilson College and ran the Athletic Training Department. In 2012 I was hired by the University of North Carolina to start and Coach their CrossFit program in Asheville.
Every client and athlete is different so sessions are programmed to the individual. Strength sessions generally begin with mobility and movement pattern preparation followed by primary strength work, then supplemental and accessory work. Sport specific sessions generally start with mobility and movement prep followed by either throws, upper or lower body jumps. Then primary strength and supplemental work followed by accessory work to target weakness. If in a conditioning or cutting wave, intervals involving exercises and or sprints with performance carry over will be implemented. To accomplish long term goals I use 16 week cycles, broken into 4 week waves for most clients.
