More About Coach Kerry
I just recently coached flag football and the age group I coached was 10-12 year old boys and with that being my first coaching experience I really enjoyed it because I taught those young men self discipline, self respect, and how to carry themselves how young men or supposed to act and I just really love getting involved with young men and women and teaching them characteristic traits that will help them not only in sports but in life as well. I also taught my players that sports is not the only thing that you can be good a to achieve life goals
I started playing football at the age of 4 and I fell in love with the game I mostly played basketball and football throughout the Birminham metro area, I played youth football ball for the Centerpoint wolfpack and then after that I played middle school football for Smith Middle School and then entering into high school I was a 3 year varsity football starter at Huffman High School in Centerpoint, Alabama and in those 3 years I received team captain honors my senior year and after I received a full scholarship to Concordia College of Alabama to play football and my time there I played and studied under coach Shepard Skanes and he taught me the importance of life and the importance of the game and my time spent at Concordia College I studied sports medicine.
The first steps to working out athletes is to see where that person is when it comes to conditioning and how that persons workout ethic is and explain to them that being in good shape goes a long way when it comes to sports but having self discipline helps you in the long run in life. My coaching philosophy is:I am a firm believer “If you have knowledge pass it on to those who do not”. I also believe that playing sports as a child, not only builds character and confidence but also gives them a sense of accomplishment. It also prepares them for life. Working as a team or as a team player. Not as an individual. I also feel it can bring a child out of his/her shell or shyness.”
