18 Years coaching experience, 15 at the High School level.
Coached in four F.H.S.A.A State Championships: (2002 Jefferson, 2004 Jefferson, 2007 Tampa Catholic, 2009 Tampa Catholic.) 7 State Semi-Finals and appearances in the State Playoffs every year as a High School Coach (except 2 yrs.) . Grew-up on the fields of T.B.Y.F.L. where my father Ronald J. Bender was one of the founders of the T & C Packers (1968).

I am all ways trying to improve as a coach. I never want to rest on my laurels and not get better. Preparing young men for college football and helping them grow as men is one of the most important factors of my life.

With every session I will apply my knowledge and experience to the complete improvement of the athlete. Not just the physical aspects but the psychological area of football. To find the strong points of the player's game and improve on that. We will work together to design goals and reach them as a team. Design a game plan to make the athlete competitive and prepared for the difficulty of a football season and have fun in the process. To make them a CHAMPION

My name is Mike Simmonds and I am a former USF Offensive Line Coach during the 2006-2009 seasons. Currently I am The Offensive Line Coach at The University of North Texas. Prior to my years at USF I was head football coach at Jefferson High School in Tampa from 1998-2005. During this time we were 75-29 on our way to two Florida State Championship Games. Kerry was an assistant coach at JHS during this time. He was instrumental with our player development, community relations and over all success on and off the field of play. Kerry was an essential member of the staff. Without Tireless dedication and relentless effort, we would not have accomplished our team goals during that time. After his time at JHS, he went on to coach in two more State Championships with Tampa Catholic.
