Kaylin Thornton, who starred for the Columbia College basketball team from 1999 to 2001, has signed a letter of intent to play for Humboldt State University in Arcata.
Thornton, a 6-foot-3, left-handed shooting guard from Oakland, joins a team that has 10 players returning from a 25-4 season that saw the Lumberjacks win the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, attain a No. 5 national ranking and reach the championship game of the NCAA Division II West Regional.
"Kaylin is a scorer, and will be able to take over some of the point production we lost with (Isaac) Gildea's graduation," Humboldt coach Tom Wood said. "I've also heard quite a few comments about his defensive abilities. In our pressing style, that will be a real plus."
Thornton was twice Columbia's leading scorer, with averages of around 20 points per game, after coming to the Claim Jumpers from Berkeley High School, where he averaged 18 points per game was rated as one of the top 20 players in the Bay Area.
Depends on experience! All clients will start with an initial session used for evaluation. After the trial session we can proceed with regular training specific to each individual players skill set. No matter what level the player is currently at...there will be a unique program set accordingly to improve every aspect of the players game.
