Kassandra Rateau

In 2016, BCity Reps was created by MTVs Americas Best Dance Crew Contestant Kassandra Rateau. Hip Hop has been cemented in Kassandra’s life since her early childhood years. Born in Boston and raised in Brockton, she first began her leadership dance role in 2000 as co-founder of the Brockton High School Step Squad. In 2004, Kassandra transformed her positive energy and knowledge to the professional ranks by joining the Phunk Phenomenon Dance Company.

After 12years with Phunk Phenomenon, Kassandra decided to share her professional dance background to her community and create BCity Reps Dance Studio. BCity Reps consists of Male and Female talented dancers, ages 4 through adults.
Some of Kassandra’s accomplishments include serving as the dance coach for the Boston Celtics Jr. Dance Team (Lil Phunk), dancing for charitable events, opening for singer Miguel, performing at Boston’s #1 Hip Hop Radio Station’s Jamn 94.5 annual concert, Monster Jam, and many high profile corporate events. Kassandra also choreographs for weddings and birthday parties

Over the years, Kassandra has received numerous awards & medals from renown organizations like Hip Hop International Dance Competition and even placed 3rd on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew- Season 6.

My achievements include:
-Opening performance for Miguel and for Jamn 94.5 Monster Jam
-Coaching Boston Celtics Jr Dance Team 2006-present

Receiving numerous medals at the Hip Hop International Dance Competition:
-Coaching BCity Reps Dance Crew placing 8th in the US Junior Division
-Coaching Lil phunk Boys 2009 receiving Gold in World Jr Division
-Coaching Lil Phunk Boys 2010 receiving 1st in US Division
-Coaching Lil Phunk Girls 2010 receiving 3rd in US Division
-Coaching Lil Phunk 2011 receiving 3rd in US Jr Division
-Coaching Lil Phunk receiving 2nd 2012 in the US Junior Division and 5th in the World
-Receiving 2nd place in US Adult Division 2010
-Contestant for MTVs Americas Best dance Crew Season 6 Placing 3rd.

Kassandra trains her dancers as athletes (ages 6-adults). She coaches to build confidence, motivation, and precision. Having Rhythm is key, building strength and power shows a clear picture on stage. Her specialty is high raw Hip-Hop, Step fraternity style dance, Afro- Caribbean and performance skill. Kassandra starts her sessions with a 15 minute warm up, finding their rhythm, building endurance, teaching different styles of hip- hop, then straight to choreography. Drill drill drill.

Kassandra's students are her motivation, they push her to strive harder when she sees them influenced to become better/stronger dancers. Kassandra is motivated, enthusiastic, and an excellent Teacher/Performer. She retains a strong work ethic and able to adapt to any situation. She wants your child leaving each session with confidence.
