More About Coach Kadeem

Hey hey!!

I'm from from Brooklyn, New York. (Brooklyn in the house!) I attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Music, Art and the Performing Arts (The Fame School) in New York City. I have choreographed over 65 dance pieces in a variety of dance genres that include: modern, contemporary ballet, jazz, tap, african and liturgical dance.

I've showcased my work at (here comes the long list...) American College Dance Festival, Harlem Summer Stage Charles Moore Dance Theater, Muhlenberg College, Lehigh University, SUNY Newpaltz, Laguardia Arts, Bric Studios, Brooklyn Friends School, The Secret Theater, St. Paul’s Community Baptist Church, Brooklyn Borough Hall, Red Hook Festival, St. Luke’s Theater, Dance New Amsterdam and the Harkness Dance Center where dance luminaries such as Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey, Robert Joffrey, and Lester Horton showcased their talent. It was here in which I was considered one of the "top seven emerging choreographers in New York City". My choreography has also been featured Off-Broadway in the shows Play The Music Softly and Alive 55+ & Kickin', as well as on CBS' 60 Minutes.

In June 2010, I started a holistic dance company called Full Force Dance Repertory.

I know you are looking for somebody fierce.
So come and get me!

-Choreographed and performed in the Off-Broadway show, "Play The Music Softly" and "Alive 55+ & Kickin'".
-Teaching artist for numerous organizations such as: Lincoln Center, The Joyce Theater, Brooklyn Friends School, Gotham High School, St. Paul's Community Baptist Church and Bailey's Cafe.
-Considered one of the "Top 7 Emerging Choreographers in New York City" by the 92nd St. Y Harkness Dance Center.
-Showcased work at American College Dance Festival.
-Choreographed segments for CBS' 60 Minutes.

I like to get to know each of my students before I start any sort of training with them. So during the first session I try to get to know why they are interested in dance, what they are specifically training for, what they feel they need to work on and where they see themselves at the end of our time together.

I would then start with a simple and relaxing warm up, do an across-the-floor routine with them and teach a dance combination to see where they are. I treat everyone as a professional dancer and give them the most advanced material based on what they told me in the beginning of the session. If it is too advanced, I then scale back and shape the movement towards what their body can do. Because I already see my students as "the best" I always give my students the best of what I can offer in terms of dance technique and instruction.

After what I see from the movement they learned in the initial session, I create a technique series catered towards them. We work on this series each session and I include a dance combination within each series.

It is my mission to get all of my students at the top of their game...no matter what.

Kareem is awesome takes his time and is patience very knowledgeable we will continue to use him thank Kareem john, micky and Jordyn

Coach Kadeem was amazing. He helped me figure out more about my body and abilities and was encouraging and enthusiastic along with honest and told me when I was messing up in order for me to be able to improve. Lovedhis attitude! I would recommand coach kadeem to anyone, he really was so great!

Kadeem is the best! As someone who comes from an Asian family, I've always had some sort of training or tutor in something ever since I was young. And I must say I've never met a better tutor than Kadeem. He really knows his stuff about dance and how to teach well. He was also very accommodating to my schedule!
I never thought I could dance. I always felt discouraged when I did start to dance and thought about stopping, however after my first session with Kadeem something changed. I just felt more confident in my abilities. He taught me how to use not only my body but my mind and emotions also while dancing. I will never forget him and all he has taught me.
