More About Coach Juwuane
I've been training and coaching young athletes since 2003. I coached at St. James High School, located in Hagerstown, Md. I started as the Special Teams, Running Backs, and Defensive line coach. Two years later, I became the Offensive Coordinator, and QB coach. I was the Head Coach my final three years. Next, I was the Offensive Coordinator and QB coach at North Hagerstown High School located in Hagerstown, MD. The last five years I have had the honor to be the Offensive Coordinator and QB coach at Mercersburg Academy, located in Mercersburg, Pa.
Throughout my coaching career, I have instructed many different age groups from 5-20. I have coached many kids who advanced to play in high school, and all college levels.
In order to gain mental and physical toughness, I believe in coaching the mind and heart. I emphasize sportsmanship and playing the game the right way. I want my players to have fun while they are playing the game, but also understand the importance of technique and mechanics.
I am currently certified as a NFL High School Player Development Coach. I am NFHS certified. I am also a member of the Maryland Football Coaches Association.
As a high school senior, I was first team all-state. As a junior, I was all-star second team. As a sophomore, I was all-state honorable mention. I attended D1 Marshall University. I was part of the 1997 Mac Championship team.
First, I like to talk with my client and try to understand what he or she is trying to accomplish. The client needs to understand that it will take more than what we are doing for 60 mins in order to reach their goals. You must put in the extra work in order to be successful. I will work hard on developing a positive mindset and helping the player have confidence and belief in themselves. The sessions are fast paced, and I demand ultimate effort along with a positive attitude, No Exceptions.
I am a firm believer of teaching muscle memory and fundamentals. Sessions last 60 min, but I will never end a session without a client understanding what and why he or she learned that day.
It is my job to get a good feel for the player. I need to know what the strengths and weakness are of my clients, and develop a coaching strategy for growth. I am firm, but fair. Prepare to be worn-out physically and mentally after each session. I will promise you, you'll love the results at the end.
