More About Coach Josh

I’ve been working with athletes and clients for the last 5 years in a coaching and training capacity. Coaching experience was with middle school and high school level athletes, some prospective college athletes. My training experience ranges from high school aged clients to clients of the upward ages of 70 years old.

As an athlete I competed primarily in football, earning a spot on my Division II college football team. I understand what it takes to get to that level and also to sustain my competitive level while in that position.

Sessions depend upon type of training. Athlete specific training will be structured in a way that focuses on the athletes specific sport and position needs. Learning from a ground up method of training, for example, footwork all the way to skill development. Fitness training is structured in a similar fashion. We focus on fundamentals of exercise and the body’s natural movement patterns. We strengthen the core throughout the duration of the session, even while strengthening the lower and upper portions of the body. Along with natural movements, we do some non traditional movement patterns that will develop the client in ways that most people don’t normally think to work themselves. This builds a balanced, yet an overall, complete physique.

(2018) I love to hit the gym to get a good workout in to get all the stress out from the day, but I'm a busy working dad of two, so being able to have some of the workouts outlined on the website or watching videos on Instagram is easy and quick. It helps me get a great workout no matter what type of time frame I have. As for outside the gym, Josh has given great helpful tips for the way I eat. I'm a big guy (6' 6" | 300 lbs), so understanding macros and when to eat has been crucial to my gains. Josh is such a great guy, with a vast knowledge of what it takes to achieve the goals that you are looking for, both in the gym and at home - fully living out the Conditioned Strength lifestyle.
(2018) I’ve known Josh a very long time. All through middle school and up through high school. We played football together for all those years and one thing about him that really stuck out was the effort he put forth for the team. Growing up I was always the big kid and not in a good way. I was overweight and even though I played sports my entire life I was never in the best physical shape that I wanted to be or should have been in. Since I started training with Josh over these last couple months all this has changed. For the better. I’ve set goals for myself and Josh has helped me reach these goals. I know if I text or call him to see if he wants to work out he will be there helping me every step of the way to reach my goals, while reaching some of his own goals as well. Like others, I would get workout plans off the internet and think I was doing it right, when really I was doing it wrong. It took someone like Josh to tell me I was doing it wrong and in correcting my methods I’ve lost fat in the hardest places to lose it and gained muscle in places I’ve never had muscle before. He helps me focus on my weak points to make them stronger. He shows up at workouts ready to put forth all his effort as a trainer just as he did all those years for as long as I’ve known him. He’s not only helped me live a healthy lifestyle inside the gym but outside the gym as well. Honestly, the dude knows what he’s talking about and can help anyone reach their goals as he’s helped me reach mine.
(2017) Josh and I became friends through mutual friends this past year. I would see him in the gym with some of my friends training them. Working on little improvements to their lifts. I got to talking to Josh and started asking him questions or if he would lift with me. Next thing I know we were lifting pretty regularly over the summer, doing things I never thought of at the gym. He is always learning and trying new workouts to continue getting stronger and leaner. Even if you have questions about food or what to eat prior or right after the gym he's got it! I am still working out with Josh a couple times a week and we are never doing the same thing as before. If you decide to work with Josh you will not be disappointed at all.
(2016) My wife and I have had the pleasure of having Josh as our personal trainer and fitness coach. Our experience was nothing short of amazing! I have personally been working out for over 15 years, and I have a familiarity with the gym. With Josh and the Conditioned Strength style of training, I've been taken to a different level. As for my wife, she was new to the gym, and Josh did a great job teaching and/or coaching her through the fundamentals and reasons behind his styles and techniques. She quickly became comfortable through and with these practices, and she soon took on an overall comfort for the environment and/or atmosphere of the gym and all of the elements. Josh and the Conditioned Strength are highly regarded by my wife and me. We recommend this training style and these fitness practices to all people, no matter what level of experience or skill. You will, indeed, be taking yourself to the next level of your specific journey if you decide to work with Josh and become a part of what is currently known as, Conditioned Strength.
(2016) Josh and I have been friends since I was a sophomore in high school. We met through a mutual friend on the football team, as Josh would help a few of us out after school with specialty drills, working on speed, strength, and agility. Once football ended, Josh and I continued our friendship into the off-season where he would design lifting programs for me to do, and he would push me through them in the gym, after school. During these workouts, Josh demonstrated excellent training techniques, showing me proper form, giving me the right kind of push to do more than just an average workout. He spotted me when I began to fail, but he always made sure I got my reps. His workouts combined a good blend of fast paced movement along with heavy weightlifting, in order to build strength and we would consistently sweat heavy due to elevated heart rate, working to peak our endurance. I personally saw great improvements, physically and mentally, working with him. On top of the technical parts to lifting, he also dedicated time out of the gym to design programs, attend sporting events with me, and keep on me, making sure I was staying out of trouble. Staying close, in and out of the gym, gave us a good bond that still carries on to this day. So on top of being a highly remarkable trainer, he was a good friend as well. Josh is knowledgeable, in and out of the weight room, keeping his head on his shoulders and looking out for others, as well.
