More About Coach Joseph
As the current head coach at Pompano Beach High School, I have the opportunity to shape young athletes and foster a competitive lacrosse environment. Previously, I served as the JV head coach at Leon High School from 2022 to 2024, where I developed players' skills and teamwork. My coaching experience also includes working with the Tallahassee Terror Lacrosse Club for the 2023-2024 season, where I focused on enhancing players' fundamentals and lacrosse IQ. My diverse coaching roles have equipped me with the tools to create tailored training programs that meet the unique needs of each athlete. I am passionate about building confidence and a love for the game while instilling a strong work ethic and sportsmanship in my players. My goal is to elevate their performance and prepare them for success both on and off the field.
I began my lacrosse journey at Boca Raton High School, where I honed my skills from 2017 to 2020, developing a strong foundation in both individual technique and teamwork. My passion for the sport led me to Florida State University, where I played for the FSU Men’s Lacrosse Club in the MCLA Division I. Competing at this level was a transformative experience, as I faced tough competition and learned to navigate high-pressure situations on the field. At FSU, I not only refined my technical skills but also deepened my understanding of the game, collaborating with talented teammates and dedicated coaches. My time with the FSU lacrosse program instilled in me a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence, shaping me into a well-rounded athlete. This experience continues to influence my coaching philosophy as I strive to inspire the next generation of players.
In a typical session, clients can expect a comprehensive approach that develops both fundamental skills and lacrosse IQ. We begin with a dynamic warm-up, followed by specific drills tailored to the athlete's position and skill level. I focus on technique, emphasizing stick handling, footwork, and shooting accuracy.
Throughout the session, I prioritize communication and feedback, ensuring athletes understand the 'why' behind each drill. By the end, they’ll leave with improved skills and a deeper understanding of the game, ready to apply what they've learned in practice and competition.

Jonas Clingerman FSU Head Coach (Testimonial)
In regards to Joseph Marano, I have a lot of great things to say. Joseph has been a key figure during my career as a Head Coach for Leon High School. His attitude and presence are unmatched during practice and on a gametime sideline. I can attribute a lot of my success as a coach to him because he’s molding the Junior Varsity talent into varsity level players for 2 and a half years now. Something that I preach to my players is that they need to handle their studies before getting the privilege of being able to step on the field. As the Head JV Coach for Leon High School, Joseph is someone who helps push that agenda on the JV team. Joseph's ability to communicate with his players is much appreciated because he has a way with the “hard to reach” players. This comes in handy when tensions are high mid-game and a kid needs to cool down, Joseph is the one I send to talk to them. I truly believe wherever he ends up after he graduates from FSU, he will continue to coach in some form. Coaching is all about creating relationships which is something that Joseph is good at. I believe he will continue to develop not only talented players but capable young adults as well.
