More About Coach Jordan
I am a varsity basketball coach at Griffin Academy and an AAU coach for the Vallejo Generals traveling basketball team. I have coached athletes at the high school and AAU levels, focusing on skill development, basketball IQ, and overall player growth. Over the years, I have worked with middle school, high school, and youth athletes, helping them prepare for higher levels of competition. My coaching philosophy emphasizes fundamentals, discipline, and game-speed execution to ensure players develop both mentally and physically.
developing players and building winning programs rather than personal accolades. While I didn’t compete at the collegiate or professional level due to injuries, my deep understanding of the game has allowed me to train and mentor athletes effectively. My focus has always been on helping players reach their full potential, both on and off the court. Through my coaching, I have helped athletes improve their skills, basketball IQ, and overall mindset, preparing them for success at the high school, college, and AAU levels.
In a typical session with me, athletes can expect a high-energy, detail-oriented workout that focuses on fundamentals, skill development, and game-speed execution. I tailor each session to the athlete’s needs while emphasizing basketball IQ, footwork, and mental toughness.
Session Breakdown:
1. Warm-Up & Mobility – Dynamic stretching, agility drills, and footwork exercises to enhance movement and prevent injuries.
2. Ball Handling & Control – Stationary and on-the-move dribbling drills to improve confidence, hand speed, and ball security under pressure.
3. Shooting & Finishing – Focused shooting drills to refine form, consistency, and range, along with finishing techniques for scoring in traffic.
4. Game Situations & Decision-Making – Live reads, one-on-one breakdowns, pick-and-roll execution, and defensive positioning to improve game IQ.
5. Conditioning & Mental Toughness – High-intensity drills that push endurance, discipline, and the ability to perform under fatigue.
My sessions are structured yet adaptable, ensuring each athlete leaves more skilled, confident, and prepared for real-game competition.
