More About Coach Jonathan
Two years experience at the NCAA Division II level, coaching QBs at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC.
Five years experience coaching American Football in Europe (Italy and Austria), working with both QBs and WRs. Including two seasons in the Italian Football League as an offensive coordinator.
I've also worked many skills camps over the course of my career, working with all age groups and every skill position on the field.
College Experience:
I played two seasons as the starting quarterback for the Cal Poly Mustangs in the 2008 and 2007 seasons. In 2007, I was ranked 2nd in the NCAA (all divisions) in passer rating with a 196.7 rating. In 2008, I was able to lead the NCAA (all divisions) in passer rating with a 173 rating. I am a winner and a smart player, any coach that I've played for or against can attest to this. I led the Mustangs to our most successful season in 2008 beating the SDSU Aztecs and nearly beating the preseason ranked top 10 Div 1 FBS Wisconsin Badgers before losing in overtime by a third missed PAT.
2007 Stats:
1960 Pass Yds 29TD 5INT 783 Rush Yds 12 TD 196.7 QB Passer Rating
2008 Stats:
2238 Pass Yds 23TD 5INT 821 Rush Yds 11 TD 172.4 QB Passer Rating
The following two seasons I played in a semi pro league in central California (LCFL) at the Quarterback and occasionally the WR position. Overall, I am a leader, maintaining a positive attitude on the field and off the field are keys to my success.
Professional Experience:
2015 and 2014 Seasons:
In 2015 I played as Co-Offensive Coordinator and play caller for the Milano Seamen in 2015. Finished the Season 8-3 and Repeated as Italian Bowl Champions. 2015 Italian Bowl MVP, 2nd Year in a Row.
In 2014, I won the IFL National Championship with the Seamen Milano with an 11-1 record (11 game win streak) on an offense that averaged over 40 pts/game. Finishing the Season as IFL season MVP.
2014 Stats:
Italian Football League MVP. Italian Bowl MVP. First Italian Bowl Championship Win for the Milano Seamen program.
2,745 Pass Yds 33 TD 4 INT 732 Rush Yds 6 Rush TDs 290.5 Yds/Gm
2013 and 2012 Seasons:
Played in the Austrian Football league with the Danube Dragons in Vienna.. In 2013, I led the league in yards passing and total yards per game and in a season. I finished the season 3rd overall in rushing yards while leading an offense that averaged over 400 yards per game.
2013 Stats:
2837 Pass Yds 23TD 15INT 824 Rush Yds 6 Rush TDs 332.8 Yds/Gm
2011 Season
In 2011, I played with the Rhinos of Milano in Milan, Italy. Bringing the Rhinos their first winning season in some years and missing the playoffs to a four-way tie-breaker at the end of the season.
Sessions can include various mental and skills training.
I have developed programs that focus on position specific skills training that include: fundamentals, footwork, speed training, timing, and position specific drills (QB/WR/DB). QB specific drills that work on arm strength, accuracy, throwing motion, timing, hard count, play action fake, throwing on the run, and more. WR specific drills that improve stance/start, defeating press coverage, route mechanics, stemming routes, downfield balance, locating the QB, coming in and out of breaks, and more.
As well as programs that lean on the philosophy of football allowing athletes to "work smarter", which include: offensive philosophies (zone read, option attack, spread offense, west coast offense, and more), reading the defense (taking what the defense gives, anticipating breaks, understanding the audible process, stemming routes), and clock management.
