More About Coach John

I have played the game since I was 11 years old. I have experience in playing offense as a wide receiver. I have coached many camps with Trinity High School and I also spent a year and a half with the university of Louisville as a GA working with safeties. Over the last 2 years I have spent time coaching DBs and Wide Receivers at North Oldham High School.

In grade school I won many city championships. In high school I played receiver all 4 years. I was a 3 year letterman and won 3 state championships as well as awards in track and field and powerlifting. I went on to walk on to the university of Louisville where I played two seasons as a wide receiver. After that I transferred to murray state university where I finished up as a 3 year letterman.

I would like to focus on fundamentals. I want to work good releases, hand placement, and route running. We will include a variety of cone drills to work routes and footwork. We will also do many hand drills to practice getting good releases off the line of scrimmage. We will then put the basics together to run full routes. We will mix in some ball drills to practice some situational awareness. Some examples would be cross field ball drills, over the shoulder, curl back to the qb, catching in traffic, as well as some "bad ball" drills.
