More About Coach John

I am the currently a Head Coach in the USPHL Premier and an Assistant Coach in the NCDC. My players in junior hockey range between 16-20 years old, as they play to prepare to move to the NCAA level. In addition, I conduct private skating and skill lessons 20 hours week with players that range from learn to play all the way to high-end junior and the collegiate level. Each lesson is designed to improve the player's individual deficiencies to enhance both physical and cognitive development . It is not a "one size fits all” approach.

I competed at the NCAA level for Assumption University. I served as a two year captain, helping the program win a league championship. Prior to my collegiate career, I played two years of junior hockey in New England.

Each session is individually tailored to help the player progress what he or she needs most work on. No two lessons are identical; families can expect their son or daughter to progress in areas where they may not be as strong as their peers. Becoming a well rounded player is crucial in order to play at higher levels. Not only will each player have the tangible skills needed to succeed, he or she will be taught the why and the where. Players need to understand why they are developing a skill and where to apply it to a live, game scenario.

My son had a great session with Coach John! He keeps it fun and engaging while teaching skills and building player confidence. Would highly recommend for anyone considering a training session.

We are very lucky to have been introduced to Coach John and have had the pleasure of working with him for two years now. We’ve seen significant gains in our son’s skating and shooting that translate directly to game situations.

Beyond his technical expertise, his coaching style has helped my son’s motivation, focus, and most of all his confidence. My son looks forward to every session!

We have had a wonderful experience overall and it has been a great investment in his development. I would highly recommend Coach John to any family with a player looking to take their skills to the next level!

Excellent! I can’t speak highly enough about John. He is working with both of my kids (male and female) and they love working with him. His approach, knowledge, and ability to connect with each of them individually is truly impressive. He strikes the perfect balance between pushing them to improve and making the sessions fun and engaging, which keeps them excited to come back every time.

As a parent, John has great communication and organizational skills - he is reliable, professional, and genuinely cares about the players he works with. I would highly recommend John to any parent looking to help their child grow as a hockey player and enjoy the process along the way.

Our kids love training with Coach John. He pushes them to improve each session, while keeping it fun. John is professional, reliable and a good communicator. If we lived closer to the rink, my son would want to be on the ice with him every day.

We have seen so much improvement, growth and confidence in our son since working with John. He has a great way of working with kids and doesn’t waste anytime. Our son enjoys going to his lessons with John. We are lucky to have found such a great reliable skating and skills coach!

Our son has made incredible improvements in both his skills and confidence since working with Coach John. We truly appreciate how he takes the time to connect with him—it’s made a meaningful difference in his engagement and overall growth. He looks forward to every session and is always asking when the next one is, which speaks volumes. We’re so grateful for the positive impact Coach John has had both on and off the ice.

John is absolutely amazing and our son always looks forward to one of his perfectly tailored lessons!

John was professional and patient. He worked on fixing problems that could potentially be bad habits! Using terms for a 6 year old, asking questions and answering questions for a better understanding! We highly recommend and working on scheduling another lesson on and off the ice.

Coach John did an excellent job of setting goals for my son to improve on his shooting. He designed a lesson that targeted areas specific to his needs. My son left excited to return and with something to work on in-between leasons.

Coach John has been fantastic. My 9yo was being a bit hard on himself and how he was progressing, to the point of thinking he wanted to quit hockey. Coach John turned that all around in the first lesson. Balancing the corrections with the encouragement and confidence building was great to see. He was also great at keeping things fun but still focused. My work and family schedule is hectic and John had been patient and accommodating in that respect as well. My son has a renewed confidence and love of the game. He is having fun again and always asking me when is his next skating or shooting session with Coach John. Thank you John!

Amazing coach looking forward to having my daughter work with him again

John is a great coach! He’s helping my child build confidence with shooting and stick handling.

We have worked with Coach John for over a year both on and off ice. My son’s hockey skills have grown immensely as a result of John’s expertise and ability to connect the game of hockey mentally and physically. My son views Coach John as an older brother and looks forward to every session we attend. I would give Coach John 15 stars but I can only give 5; Coach John is excellent.

My son loves working with coach John. Not only does he get good feedback, good technique, but John is a great role model when it comes to hard-work and focus at each lesson. Highly recommend John for your player.
