More About Coach John
I am a former Division I baseball player at Auburn University and Baylor University with a background in kinesiology and strength programming. My coaching focuses on youth and high school athletes who want to improve performance in a clear, structured way. I apply the same high-level principles I learned in Division I baseball—a simple approach that focuses not on making changes to the athletes unique movement signature but building around that pattern and creating a swing that is natural to the athlete but simply more efficient.
Former Division I corner infielder at Auburn University and Baylor University. Trained extensively in advanced hitting instruction, infield defense, and structured strength and conditioning programs. Studied kinesiology, allowing me to combine elite playing experience with a deep understanding of biomechanics, movement patterns, and strength development. This combination helps me teach athletes why things work, not just what to do.
A typical session is organized, efficient, and focused on fundamentals that translate directly to game performance. Sessions begin with a dynamic warm-up centered on movement quality. After a swing assessment, key areas of improvement will be identified. Throughout the session we will work through a variety of drills meant to create enhanced proprioception (feel) in the athlete to the movements we are trying to create.
