Athlete Experience:
I am a track athlete still competing at the national level. I have competed all through High School and College, and have navigated the world of post-collegiate competitive running. My accomplishments and my own journey towards becoming a better athlete give me a great perspective to help others working towards their own fitness and performance goals.

Coaching Experience:
I have experience as an Assistant Track & Field Coach, both at the collegiate and high school level. As well, I have completed the STOTT Pilates training and have experience as a Pilates instructor and Personal trainer. I also have a fair amount of experience providing training plans from everything from 5k to the Half Marathon. My education and my personal experience give me a broad perspective that I draw from.

My Philosophy:
The beauty of running is that it can serve any purpose you want it to. Many runners simply want a plan that they can follow on a daily basis, some runners have specific time goals they want to hit, and others simply want a little extra motivation.

I have a very holistic approach and aim to educate runners to be more aware of their fitness, their goals and how to develop themselves as athletes. I share a wealth of knowledge of my own experiences and education. But most importantly, I work with clients to get clear about their goals and put together a guided plan to achieve them.

An initial session will be a one-on-one meeting to summarize goals and put together a plan for your individual needs.

Ongoing sessions after this initial meeting will be customized based on individual preferences discussed in our initial session. Some clients prefer to meet me only for hard workouts and have me time their intervals and give feedback during intervals. Other clients prefer to meet for an easy run and core session; some of these clients like me to run with them. Some clients prefer to do everything on their own and just want a plan for the next 3 months. It's all up to you!

If you prefer to do your training on your own and are just looking for a plan I can coach you virtually. An initial session will be an hour phone conversation to get an idea of goals and needs. I will email you a 1-6 month daily plan (depending on needs) that includes monthly phone conversation check ins and availability via email for questions. Pricing varies depending on length of plan. Working with Joanna was amazing! I was definitely not an easy client (crazy and unpredictable work schedule), and she was very patient and helped me create goals that were realistic but challenging. I have really enjoyed working with Joanna. My fitness level has increased significantly since I began working with her back in January and I feel like I am close to being in the best shape of my life. I know I'll be prepared for my marathon over Memorial Day weekend as long as I stick to her training regimen. If I feel I need coaching for an event in the future, I will definitely reach out to Joanna again.

Joanna was great at our first session- was able to give me very helpful feedback on my running mechanics, form and how to incorporate running workouts with injury prevention exercises and my current routine. I look forward to continuing to work with her.
