More About Coach Jim
I have been coaching and training for over 40 years, working with athletes all the way from middle school to the professional level. I was the head coach at Coalinga High School, assistant coach at Bullard and Central High Schools in Fresno, as well as development coach at Fresno City College and the Bakersfield Jam NBA Development League. Presently I do skill development at Bishop Gorman High School.
I played at St. Elizabeth's High School in Oakland where I was All League and All East Bay. I then went on to play at the University of Nevada Reno as well as Cal State Bakersfield.
I focus on game-related training. If you can't use it during a game, I don't cover it. My major emphasis are sprinting with the ball, starts and stops, backing up with the ball, changing directions and dribbling and shooting fundamentals.
