More About Coach Jim

I’m the founder and head coach of Coyote Kids Baseball Club in Louisville, Colorado, where I specialize in helping young players build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a genuine love for the game. I’m also the Director of T-Ball & Machine Pitch for Monarch Little League and coach youth players throughout the Boulder County area in both group clinics and private lessons.

I primarily work with athletes ages 5-12, from complete beginners through experienced travel ball players. Every session is tailored to the individual athlete’s age, ability, and goals. Whether we’re developing throwing mechanics, improving swing efficiency, sharpening defensive skills, or simply helping a young player gain confidence, I focus on making every lesson engaging, encouraging, and productive.

Parents appreciate my patient teaching style, clear communication, and ability to make learning fun while still challenging players to improve. I’m currently completing my NASM Certified Personal Trainer certification, allowing me to incorporate age-appropriate athletic development, movement, coordination, and injury-conscious training into my coaching.

Baseball has been part of my life since I was a kid. I grew up playing every chance I got—summer days that started with a glove and ended when it got too dark to see the ball. While I didn’t play Division I or professionally, my greatest accomplishments have come through coaching young athletes and helping them develop a lifelong love for the game.

I love helping young players discover what’s possible on their baseball journey. That philosophy shapes every session I coach. Rather than overwhelming kids with technical jargon, I focus on creating fun, engaging challenges that naturally teach proper mechanics while building confidence, athleticism, and a desire to keep improving.

As the founder of Coyote Kids Baseball Club and Director of T-Ball & Machine Pitch for Monarch Little League, I’ve learned that when kids are having fun and believing in themselves, their skills grow right alongside their confidence.

Every lesson begins with a quick assessment so I can understand each athlete’s current skill level, experience, and goals. No two players are exactly alike, so no two sessions are exactly the same.

For younger players, we focus on building athletic movement, confidence, and sound fundamentals through fun, game-based instruction. We work on throwing mechanics, using the lower half in the swing, tracking the baseball, improving coordination, and developing skills that create long-term success.

For older or more experienced players, sessions become much more rep-focused. We may spend an entire lesson working through throwing progressions, swing progressions, soft toss, tee work, Camwood weighted bat training, medicine ball drills, or defensive repetitions. My goal is to help players get quality reps with immediate feedback so they leave feeling sharper and more confident than when they arrived.

Whether your athlete is picking up a bat for the first time or preparing for another travel or Little League season, I strive to create an environment that’s positive, challenging, and fun while helping every player discover what’s possible through baseball.
