More About Coach Jill

I am a former Division 1 collegiate runner, competing in mid-distance and distance events, from the 4x400m relay up to the 6k. Since college, I have participated in half-marathons and a full marathon. During my collegiate career, I was team captain (2 years) and team manager (1 year). I am also a licensed physical therapist. I will use my experience as a runner combined with my physical therapy background and knowledge to help athletes achieve their goals, while preventing injury along the way. I will also be an expert in returning athletes to running from injury, helping them build back up in a safe way. In addition to this, I am able to provide runners who would benefit with custom-made orthotics to help correct foot alignment, preventing injury and increasing speed through improved biomechanics.

I was a runner for a Division 1 collegiate Cross Country and Track and Field program for 5 years at Quinnipiac University. During my final two years on the team, I was a team captain. During my years on the team, I earned awards such as, "Most Improved" and "Coaches Award." I competed in events from the 4x400m relay - 6k. Since graduating, I have competed in half marathons and one full marathon. I have a License of Physical Therapy, as well as a Sole Support Orthotics certification.

During a training session, I will carefully plan out individual training plans to help runners achieve their specific goals. I will educate runners on proper warm-ups, including plyometric drills and dynamic stretching. I will coach runners through a variety of work-outs including both speed and endurance-building work-outs. I will examine running form and help athletes to correct their form in order to prevent injury and build speed. I will educate runners in proper cool-down techniques and stretches, including nutrition in order to maximize the effects of work-outs. Cross training work-outs will also be included in the running plan.
