More About Coach Jhovanna

United Endurance Sports Coaching Association (UESCA) Running Coach Certified. Wilderness First Aid Responder Certified. First AID/AED/CPR Certified. Mental Health First Aid Certified. I have been a runner for almost 15 years and a running coach for almost a year. I was first a high school runner then a college runner and now you can find me at the local trail/road races competing for fun. I've worked with a wide range of skill levels, training availability, and ages ranging from high school aged runners and those in the Masters (40+) division.

Along with soccer and tennis, I also competed as a cross country and track and field runner in high school. These athletic endeavors earned me the Sportsmanship Award, All-State Honors in cross country, soccer, and tennis, and Runner of the Year. After high school I played tennis and ran cross country for Hollins University. There I earned Freshman of the Year, Coach's Excellence Award, and was an ODAC All-Academic dual-sport athlete. Outside of the academic setting I've pursued cross fit, amongst other things, where I earned my gym's Member of the Year award and founded a run club- Running Wild Collective. I love lifting, running, reading, exploring, rock climbing, and yoga, in no specific order.

A typical training plan from me is going to definitely incorporate some form of strength training/ building, and yoga in addition to running. The specific amount of days running, strength training, yoga, swimming, rest days etc. are based on on what your short-term and long-term goals as well as your training availability. There will be a lot of communication between the both of us to ensure we build a training plan that is flexible yet challenging enough to reach your goals.

FANTASTIC PROGRAM AND COACH! I’ve been working with Jho for about 4 weeks and she is motivating, affirming, and flexible. From the initial session, I was so nervous but she put my mind at ease that we would go at my pace. I go to work and school so it’s been really hard to work with other coaches’ schedules and specifically their training regimens. So, I am actually utilizing Jho’s coaching and programs 100% virtually, and even with that, I feel like she provides such a personal focus! I feel like I am truly part of the “collective” and really enjoy the weekly check ins and workout adjustments when my work schedule is too hectic or I just need a break. Side note, I did have a week off where I was able to even meet others in Jho’s free running group - so many great opportunities! I highly recommend checking her out and booking a consultation!
