More About Coach Jhad

I have 10+ years of coaching from club track all the way to the collegiate level. I'm USATF Level 2 Jumps Certified. 2004-2005 Hawks Track Club and Southern California Running Cougars, 2006-2016 North Hollywood High School, 2016-Present Moorpark College. Specializing in the hurdles, sprints and jumps. I coach athletes from the ages of 10+.

Competed in Track & Field Birmingham High School, Moorpark College and Eastern Oregon University in the 110 Hurdles, 300/400 Hurdles, 4x100 relay and the 4 x 400 relay.

A typical session will consist of a light warm up jog, then move into a dynamic warm up to prepare the body for the required demands of the sport. Once the warm up is complete we will move into the technical aspects of the hurdles/sprints/jumps and focus on drills to improve motor control and proper movements to be more efficient as a hurdler/sprinter/jumper. Then a running workout that will be focused on speed or speed endurance depending on the time of the season and the needs of the athlete.

Coach Jhad Jones has been anything and everything I could have asked for in a coach. He introduced me to track and field and has coached me through my athletic career for the past four years. Starting as the coach of my high school team he lead us through three undefeated seasons while making a sport centered around physical exhaustion fun.
