More About Coach Jennifer

I am an RRCA certified running coach and have been coaching athletes for two years. I have been running since 2003. I specialize in beginning athletes or those who are returning to the sport after a lengthy absence. I have worked and volunteered for group training programs at running stores, as well as coached individuals online and in person for distances from 5k to marathon.
I am also a Certified Weight Loss Consultant and am happy to help individuals create plans to lose weight in addition to their running program.

I have been running since 2003. As someone who did not compete in high school or college, I have a great appreciation for those who are just starting out. I am also a parent and understand the unique needs of new running "moms" and those starting back up after pregnancy or a hiatus. I am an RRCA certified running coach.

Our typical session will be individually designed, based on skill level and goals. At our initial goal setting session, we will assess level of fitness, proper running form and develop a plan.
Each session
1.Pre-run stretching
2. Skill focus ( depending on individual goals): drills aimed at increasing speed, form focus (stride, gait) , building endurance and pacing.
3. Cool Down and Stretching.

I started running years ago but after having a C section and not being able to run during my pregnancy I decided to run with a coach – the proper way - because I really wanted to be back in shape as soon as possible. Jenny is a fantastic coach and will change your running life! I had been running for about 5 years and was ready to give it up before I met Jenny. I was not seeing any changes in my times/techniques and was very discouraged. After running with her for a few weeks everything changed. She is a great motivator and really focuses in on what your goals are and how to reach them. The goals may seem scary or unreachable, but when she goes over the training plan she has a way of making you believe in yourself. She is always positive during the runs, if I had a tough run it was “what have we learned from this”. She teaches you the value of putting the miles in and how that will get you to the end goal. Then you see and feel for yourself the results of all the hard work coming together and surpassing the goal! When she needs to be tough she is in a way that makes you want to push yourself and challenge yourself on the next run. It’s never negative and even on the days when I felt tired and not into the runs, there was Jenny coaching me along, sharing a running story of her own, sharing tips on how to keep going and when we finished I felt so much better and glad that I didn’t give up. Jenny teaches you how to listen to your body and that it will do amazing things if you overcome your mind from trying to tell you otherwise. Now I crave the runs and am always looking for my next goal to race. She has changed the way I look at running, it’s not just a hobby but a way of life for me now. And I thank her so much for showing me that I had it in me all along!
Jennifer is a wonderful coach. She is truly the kind of coach you hope for. While most of the training is done in a group setting the plans are also very individualized. Jenny understands the goals that each person has and her ultimate goal is to get us to race day prepared, confident and motivated. She is there to help every step of the way, whether that is running by your side during practice, taking extra time to explain race day tips or working with you when you need to adjust your plan. I personally would not be where I am today as a runner without Jenny's coaching. My favorite quality about Jenny is her love for running. Her passion is evident every time we get together and her end goal as a coach is to get you where you want to be; all while making sure you continue to love running!
Jennifer is the best coach ever! She's everything you could want in a coach. She's understanding and compassionate yet firm and motivational. Not only is she great at communication and keeping in touch with updates, she is incredibly empathetic and has the patience of a saint. At the same time, she knows exactly where to draw the line. You tell her your goal and she will get you there! She is probably the most positive spirited person I have ever met and knows just what to say when getting frustrated or down on yourself. Her training plans don't make you feel overwhelmed or pressured... It's the perfect combination of planned workouts and the right training to reach your end goal. I don't know how I could ever continue running without her guidance and strength. She's the best thing that has happened to my running life!
