More About Coach Jeff
My name is Jeff. I am originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan (Go Blue!) but attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina and I have lived in Charleston, SC ever since. I played Water Polo and swam in High School and I was a Collegiate Swimmer and 4-time Academic All-American for Albion College. I played Club Water Polo for the USC Gamecocks. I have a master’s degree and completed a graduate concentration in Sports Performance and Athletic Leadership. I current teach Strength and Conditioning courses for Park University at the Charleston Air Force Base campus center. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) my focus is on injury prevention and conditioning. I have taught collegiate athletes competing in Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball and Golf. As a multi-sport Strength Coach, I focus on identifying movement weaknesses and under-active muscles and work with the athlete to combat these deficiencies and achieve optimal performance.
Please feel free to contact me at any time. We’ll work together to uncover and combat any muscle deactivation and compensation so the athlete feels stronger and improves power and speed. I am happy to work with athletes of any age and skill level, and especially enjoy working with student-athletes who feel that they are not natural athletes and need that extra confidence.
1994 All-State and All-American Water Polo Player, Pioneer High School, Ann Arbor, MI.
1994-1998 Albion College Men's Swimming
2002-2003 University of South Carolina Club Water Polo
We'll go through a dynamic warm-up and movement assessment/screen notating any weaknesses in the kinetic chain. Initially we'll walk through a series of core bodyweight exercises that focus on mobility, flexibility, stability and strength. After determining muscle weaknesses and imbalances, I'll design a program of corrective, core strength and mobility exercises that are sport and position specific and optimized for each athlete.

Client Reviews
David M. / Collegiate Volleyball Player (Testimonial)
I learned a lot from from Coach Jeff. Thank you so much for all your great knowledge. I had fun learning new stuff. I worked in one D1 University and the Strength Coach was doing everything the same for everyone. He was an ex Football player and he really didn't understand the game of Volleyball. Coach Jeff is not afraid to ask questions, to learn what his players are thinking and how they are feeling.
Nellie M. / Student-Athlete (Testimonial)
I feel like I've learned more from Coach Jeff and this class [Concepts in Strength and Conditioning] than I have in many of my other classes combined. It's been so informative and interesting; I really enjoyed it. I had no idea there were so many ways to build and improve training plans.
