More About Coach Jamie

For the last 14 years I have been in the sport of track and field. I have competed in Germany, Italy, and Spain. I am a 100, 200, and 400 meter specialist. I have competed at the college as well and have reached the status of All-American in all events. At this moment I currently hold 5 records at my Alma Mater as well as a few records from my Former Track club in Germany. I have coach sprinters who are now competing at the collegiate level. My experience in coaching comes from international coaching as well as professional coach and learning from my own experience as a track and field athlete.

I love working with kids of all ages, in my view there is no kid that cant be coached. If you start kids out at a young age and make it fun as well as challenging then the chances are that child will give you 100% every time. I focus on endurance first of all, because in order to achieve what you want there must be some type of endurance and endurance is what gives you the thrive to finish a race at the end. I also focus on drills and stretching and as well as strength training, with these essential elements it`s easier for a runner to accomplish their goals. Track and field takes a lot of hard training and practicing and with me you will most definitely see a change with your form and technique.

My sessions normally start with a light warm up, followed by stretching , drill, and short sprints. As far as he workouts they mainly depend on the athlete experience. I normally start off slow to get the athlete body use to running as well as knowing how to control breathing and knowing howto pace each workout with precision. Once the season begins my athletes will see improvement throughout the season and the goal is to peek at the right moment.

First of all I ask the athlete what are their expectations and goals for the event that they are competing in, once all is establish I see where they are as far as training and normally the first session consists of drills, plyometrics, and stretching. I normally start them of with 600m with 10 minutes rest to see where their endurance is at. Normally it`s at their own rate however I prefer that they push a bit just to get a feel for it. From the 600m runs it will tell me how much in shape an athlete really is after a series of 3. After that I can see where he or she is and make my workout plan from there. However later in the season time will tell what their specialty is and I make adjustments as see fit.

Client Reviews

I was unsure about doing the Coachup. Once I saw him working with my son I was so glade I did it. My son enjoys working with him and I see how much he has impacted my son off the track as well as on. A great coach and person. I know in time he will train him to reach and achieve great accomplishment in track and more. Thank you.
