More About Coach Jamar
I am the Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach at Cincinnati Christian University. Before accepting the college position, I coached three years at the high school level at Hughes High School. I started my own player development program (Second Half Athletes). I have
trained a number of athletes that are playing or has played collegiate basketball including:
Angel Rivera (Stetson), Devin Williams (West Virginia University), Anthony McClain
(University of Cincinnati Grad/playing professionally), Evan Yates (Ashland Grad/ playing professionally), Jaaron Simmons (Ohio), Ian Jackson (NCAA D3 All
American), Elijah Pughsley (Western Carolina Commit) and the list goes on. As an experienced basketball coach and trainer, I am very
familiar with working with collegiate athletes and getting players to the next level.
Competed collegiately, played three years of college basketball at Trine University formerly known as Tri-State University. At Trine I played point guard. While at Trine I played against several guys who are playing or played professionally. Before Trine, I played high school basketball at Hughes High School. At Hughes I played both guard positions and was named an all conference honorable mention player.
Each workout is different. Depending on the athletes age, position and capabilities, the workout will vary. Footwork, ball handling, and shooting is incorporated in every workout.
Every workout will aim to increase the individuals offensive and defensive IQ.
Workouts vary depending on the individual needs. I understand as a player and coach that's different athletes have different weaknesses. My goal is to strengthen the individual weaknesses. Second Half Athletes is a player development program but it is so game like it incorporates a lot of conditioning. Fundamentals are often overlooked at today's day and age, no matter who the athlete is, through repetition I focus to improve their fundamental basketball skills.

First session with Coach Mosley (with my 10 year-old son) went great. Definitely looks like he's going to challenge him, instill discipline, and stress the importance of reps and consistency, but he's going to make it fun too. He works in a good mix of basic fundamentals with game-realistic moves and techniques; by including the latter he makes it more enjoyable for my son. Coach Mosley clearly knows how to play, and also knows that skills are built step by step, block by block. I hope to have him train my son for a long time.
