More About Coach Jacob
I have extensive experience coaching and training athletes at various levels. I have worked with players ranging from ages 9 to 18, focusing on skill development, strength training, mobility, and overall athletic performance. Additionally, I have coached at the collegiate level, helping athletes refine their mechanics and prepare for higher levels of competition.
As a former professional baseball player in the Colorado Rockies organization, I bring firsthand knowledge of what it takes to succeed at an elite level. My coaching experience includes working with travel teams, private training sessions, and consulting with athletes looking to improve both physically and mentally.
I primarily work with youth and high school athletes, helping them develop a strong foundation in fundamentals while also emphasizing the mental and strategic aspects of the game. While I do not currently hold industry certifications, my professional playing experience and coaching background allow me to provide athletes with high-level instruction tailored to their individual needs.
I played collegiate baseball at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where I competed at the NCAA Division I level. During my time there, I received All-Conference Honors and was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 10th round of the 2019 MLB Draft. I went on to play professional baseball in the Colorado Rockies organization, gaining firsthand experience in high-level competition, training, and player development.
Throughout my career, I had the opportunity to compete against top-tier talent and learn from some of the best coaches in the game. My experiences at the collegiate and professional levels have given me valuable insight into the demands of the sport, which I now use to help athletes improve their skills and reach their goals."
A typical session with me is tailored to the athlete’s individual needs, but every session is designed to improve skill, strength, mobility, and overall athletic performance. I take a holistic approach, ensuring that each athlete not only refines their technique but also develops the physical and mental tools necessary for success.
Sessions begin with a structured warm-up focused on mobility, injury prevention, and activation drills specific to the movements of baseball. From there, we transition into sport-specific drills, depending on the athlete’s position and goals. For pitchers, this could include mechanical work, arm care routines, and velocity development. For position players, we may focus on hitting mechanics, fielding fundamentals, or footwork drills.
Throughout the session, I emphasize proper movement patterns, efficient mechanics, and game-like reps to ensure skill transfer. Strength and conditioning elements are often incorporated, particularly core stability, explosive movements, and functional strength work. We finish with a cool-down and recovery strategies, including mobility exercises and mental preparation techniques.
Every session is high-energy, structured, and designed to challenge the athlete while fostering confidence and continuous improvement.

Daniel (CoachUp client)
My son learned more from coach Jake in one hour than he has from coaches in 4 years of playing ball. Highly recommend him. He’s also very comfortable and peaceful to be around.
