More About Coach Jacob
I have coached both high school and college-age athletes through in-person and remote training, focusing on developing efficient movement patterns, improving velocity, and reducing injury risk. I’ve collaborated with pitching coaches, remote performance specialists, and strength coaches to create well-rounded programs that address every aspect of an athlete’s development. Over the years, I’ve dedicated significant time to studying biomechanics, strength training, mobility, and movement efficiency to better understand how to maximize performance. My approach combines technical analysis with individualized programming, helping athletes make measurable improvements while maintaining long-term durability. Whether working in the weight room, on the field, or through video breakdowns online, I strive to connect with each athlete, understand their goals, and design a plan that fits their needs. My experience across different coaching environments has given me a strong understanding of what it takes to help athletes reach their full potential.
I am a left-handed pitcher who most recently competed in the MLB Draft League with the Frederick Keys. I posted a 1.08 ERA, 17.3 K/9, 0.96 WHIP, and held opponents to a .167 batting average over 8.1 innings. My fastball sits 90–91 mph, topping at 93, complemented by a slider (78–80 mph, 2800+ rpm) and changeup (81–82 mph, 2000 rpm).
I spent two years in junior college before transferring to Georgia Southern University, where I pitched for two seasons. In my senior year, I recorded a 5.16 ERA over 61 innings in 18 appearances, leading the team in strikeouts. The year prior, I logged a 4.79 ERA across 47 innings with a .240 opponent average.
Known for my strong command and competitive edge, I have developed through collaborations with pitching and strength coaches while continually studying biomechanics, lifting, and mobility to enhance performance.
I make it a priority to get to know every athlete I work with because each one is unique. My goal is to build on their strengths while addressing any areas that may be holding them back. Together, we’ll discuss specific drills to develop efficient movement patterns that enhance performance and reduce injury risk. We’ll also talk about what the athlete feels they need to improve or add to compete at the highest level. In addition, we’ll cover topics such as pitch design, throwing programs, and strength training.
