More About Coach Jacob

I've trained age groups from 2nd graders to geriatrics and specialise in training the undersized post player (stretch-4) in learning how to be effective as a guard and/or forward. Achieved D3 and NAIA scholarships to play ball, but instead chose to attend Belmont University and learn more about the science behind peak athletic performance. I've coached and refereed mostly middle school basketball and I would practice with the Belmont WBBall team and soak up knowledge from the coaching staff during their 4 consecutive conference titles. I'm certified in the Functional Movement Screen and have interned at Chadwick's and worked at an EMS studio called Manduu.

All-district and all-region tournament team my junior and senior year at Brentwood High School. 2 state tournament appearances, finished in the Final-4 twice, led BHS to best record in program history senior year (32-3). Competed against athletes such as Garrison Matthews, Jonathan Williams III, and Juan Jennings.

My basketball sessions are split up into 3 general areas. two on a basketball court 1 can be on a field/track.
-Post Work; pivots, Duck-ins, pick/rolls/pops/flares, finishing post moves and learning to get more and1's
-Transition Shooting; getting as many high % shots in during transition looks, you will learn to shoot a confident 3-ball/1 dribble pullup here. These days will really test your conditioning and help you get into "basketball shape".
- Bounce,Speed,Agility; these days will be more about how to cut looking for the ball, lateral quickness so we can beat big men to their spots, and the physics behind the vertical leap. I'll generally suggest some recovery tips and stretches that can keep away nagging aches and pains.
