More About Coach Jackson

I have been coaching tennis since 2020, working with players ranging from young beginners to high-level junior competitors, collegiate athletes, and adults looking to improve their game. My coaching experience includes both private lessons and group training, with an emphasis on technical development, match strategy, footwork, and mental toughness for competitive tournament players. In addition to coaching, I have competed at a high level myself, playing Division I tennis at Auburn University and the University of Texas at San Antonio before transitioning to professional tennis. My firsthand experience competing internationally allows me to provide athletes with practical insights into training, tournament preparation, and performance under pressure. While I do not currently hold industry coaching certifications, my background as a Division I and professional player, combined with several years of coaching experience, has equipped me with the knowledge and ability to help athletes develop their skills and achieve their competitive goals.

I have competed at both the NCAA Division I and professional levels throughout my tennis career. I played Division I collegiate tennis at Auburn University before transferring to the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where I continued competing at a high level against nationally ranked programs. After college, I pursued a professional tennis career, competing in international tournaments and earning ATP ranking points while facing players from around the world. These experiences have given me firsthand knowledge of the discipline, preparation, and mental resilience required to perform at an elite level. In addition to my collegiate and professional accomplishments, I have spent years coaching players of varying ages and skill levels, using my competitive experience to help athletes improve their technical skills, match strategy, and overall performance. My greatest accomplishment has been reaching the professional level and continuing to compete while helping develop the next generation of competitive tennis players.

Every training session is designed around the individual athlete's goals, skill level, and competitive schedule. We begin with a dynamic warm-up and movement exercises to improve agility, balance, and footwork before transitioning into technical stroke development. I emphasize building consistent, repeatable fundamentals while refining advanced shot selection, point construction, and decision-making under pressure. Sessions include high-intensity live-ball drills, serve and return work, situational point play, and competitive games that simulate real match scenarios. For tournament players, I place a strong focus on developing mental toughness, shot tolerance, transition play, and creating patterns that fit each athlete's strengths. Throughout every session, I provide constant feedback and make adjustments based on performance, ensuring players understand not only what to improve but why it matters. My goal is for every athlete to leave each lesson having improved technically, physically, and mentally while gaining confidence they can immediately apply in competition.
