I have a wide range of coaching experience with youth baseball. I was the head coach of 9U, 10U, and 14U while also being an assistant coach for 11U and 13U with Colangelo baseball Academy (CBA) which now goes by Stars in Northern Virginia. I have worked as a hitting instructor for both Summer and Winter Camps with the same organization that ranges from ages 6 thru 18. I am comfortable working with all ages from t-ball to high school.

I was a 4 year collegiate baseball player at Coppin State University (Division 1) in Baltimore,MD. While there in my 4 years I became the universities all time hits leader while also setting numerous other offensive records. Ended my collegiate career with a .340 avg and 54 XBH. I was a 4 time team MVP, freshman male athlete of the year, and ended my career as the Male Athlete of the year for the university. After my collegiate career, went on to play 2 years of independent baseball where I was a 2X All-Star in the Pecos league. Posted a .332 avg over my two seasons there before returning to become a coach.

For younger players, I believe in focusing on the basics of hitting. Having a solid base, good load and stride and having a good swing path to the ball. A strong top hand thru the hitting zone and hitting the top half of the ball to create back spin to allow the ball to travel further. For the older players, I believe in hoaning in on those same skills while also working with players on the mental side of the game. Having players understand that both parts are important to their success is key to maximizing their potential.
