More About Coach Gregg

I have coached soccer, basketball, and softball at the high school and college level over the past 16 years. I have coached HS and college softball (NJCAA, Columbia-Greene CC). I have coached basketball at the HS and college level (NCAA, Bard). I have also coached HS soccer (both boys and girls). I am CPR and First Aid certified. I have received a NYS coaching licensure. I have earned a master’s degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University.

I played college baseball as a starting pitcher and 2nd baseman at Keuka College. I was a 3-sport standout HS athlete. I earned All-Conference All-Star recognition in soccer, basketball, and baseball beginning in my sophomore year. I began my varsity baseball career in 7th grade. I was also recognized by my HS with awards such as; Varsity Letters, Best Defensive Awards, MVPs, and Coaches Awards for various sports.

The session will be tailored to the individual’s personal interests and needs. Offensive skills that can be addressed are shooting (post-moves, long range shooting), free throw shooting, dribbling, passing, spacing, movement without the ball, give-and-go's, and setting screens. Defensively, we will work on footwork, hedging screens, communication, defensive positioning (on ball, 1 pass away, 2 passes away, etc.), man-to-man, zone defense, various presses, and rebounding. We can also work on sport-specific weight training and cardio-fitness.

Coach Gregg was very nice and very knowledgable in softball. First lesson was on batting and I feel my daughter can swing better. She just needs to practice what was taught to her. Thank you Gregg.
