More About Coach Grant

I have been a player mostly my whole life. Once I went pro I decided to train and take the younger generation of top players in my area under my wing. I have been training others for about 6 years now. I trained them for most of their college careers in weight training, court work, nutrition and off court lifestyle. They ended up going pro overseas as well and the others college. During that time other high school kids asked to train with me so I began training a handful of high school kids as well. I eventually also picked up a job, helping my friend's team, coaching middle school kids.

In high school I was a CA all-state player, unanimous MVP of the league, broke many scoring records at my school. In college I competed at the division 1 and division 2 level on full scholarships. At D1 I was named to the all freshman team by unanimous decision, being a 2nd leading scorer on my team. I was in the running for the Bevo Francis award my senior year at D2, at the time averaging over 29ppg which held me at 2nd in the nation amongst all players at any level. I then went pro in Spain, received MVP my rookie season, managed to play another 6 years through grueling injuries which eventually ended my playing career 2 years ago.

I am a firm believer in slowly growing what you are already great at, while focusing on the things you are bad at. I focus on bettering every single facet of one's desired play style, while also slowly implementing new approaches. Each player should show up 15-20 minutes early to training to begin a full body warmup. Preparing correctly in a professional way is how to approach the full array of taking care of your body. I start with form shooting and touch finishing, then ball handling through movements, midrange work, standstill 3 work, then likely go through game like scenarios directly related to your position or the offense your team runs. Finishing with shooting challenge every practice!

Client Reviews

Laurence Hallier (Testimonial)

I believe Grant can coach at virtually any level of basketball. He has the playing pedigree and credibility of someone who competed professionally, but more importantly, he has the instincts, patience, communication skills and attention to detail of a true coach. That combination, elite player and elite teacher, is incredibly difficult to find.
