More About Coach Gerald

I am an experienced High School and Middle School Coach who has assembled several Youth Basketball teams (AAU), Directed/Operated Youth Basketball Tournaments and Camps. I have Coached/Trained basketball players ages 5 thru college level; girls and boys. I am NBA (Youth Development), NCAA Certified and Trained/Certified in NAIA Champions of Character. Certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Personal Trainer and Sports Performance Specialist.

I played varsity High School Basketball in New York City (1983 and 1984 seasons) at Bishop Loughlin High School where our team won CHSSA State Title in 1983. I was All-City (NYC) honorable mention and CHSSA All Brooklyn/Queens second team in 1984. I played College basketball at Dominican College (NAIA).

My passion is basketball and fundamentals are my focus. I use a 5 point evaluation system which covers footwork, shooting, rebounding, passing, dribbling , and defense. I also cover offense (knowledge), player personality, and general basketball information. My program is progressive, starting with an evaluation of the player's skill level and developing a program to raise the player's skills to compete at the national level.

We were very impressed with coach Gerald as a person and as a professional trainer. This was our first time to schedule a session with CoachUp. Coach Gerald is a fabulous coach! First off he I was very quick to respond to my questions about the lesson and scheduling. When my daughter's first lesson started I was impressed with Coach Gerald within the first 5 minutes. Coach Gerald is wonderful! After the first lesson, my daughter came away with techniques she was able to use immediately. He teaches every moment she is being trained by him.
