More About Coach Gerald

I have been doing martial arts for the past 24 years, and have been teaching for 17 years. I train and Coach students from age 3 and up, I received my training in College Park, GA from Grandmaster Moreland, and continue to spread his teaching. I train those students who seek general fitness, self defense, and tournament opportunities, and those who would like to become a teacher one day, I currently hold black belt certificates in Chang Moo Kwon and Kukkiwon which is world recognized, and only accepted for the USA Olympics. I currently Coach students for the AAU Taekwondo, I've been involved with the AAU for over a year. Yearly tournaments I coach students in are: The Atlanta Open, The Atlanta Challenge, The Winter Battle, The Roman Tournament, The AAU GA Qualifier, The AAU TN Qualifier, and The AAU National's Championship. I and also a USA Taekwondo Certified Referee, so when it comes to competition, I know the rules.

I have competed in Winter Battle Tournament where I achieve 3rd place in the adult black belt division, The Atlanta Open Taekwondo where I placed 1st in forms and 2nd in sparring in the black belt division, The Atlanta Challenge where I placed 1st in forms, The Master Shim's World Class tournament where I placed 2nd in forms and 3rd in sparring. I have also achieved my 3rd Dan Black Belt Certificate in Chang Moo Kwan, and I hold a Kukkiwon certified Black Belt, which can be tracked world wide, and is only accepted in the USA Olympics to be apart of. To this I still train and Compete in tournaments.

My classes always start with stretching, it's important to stretch and improve flexibility and you will feel better in the long run and will make martial arts techniques easier to perform without worrying about injury. The next part of class consist of warm ups and cardio to get the blood flowing, then we hop into our basic material from which all martial arts started from. then we get to our condition training for the specific which is the bulk of the class time, where most learning and hard work occurs. Towards the end of class we work on the belt curriculum form and end with a brief stretch. My training may be considered difficult but you will benefit from it, its not impossible, through time and hard work the results will show. Every so often you'll be tested on the material to move up in rank.
