More About Coach Frank

My history with teaching people how to improve their physical and mental skills in sport includes personal training at Gold’s gym in Teterboro, NJ, and Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ. I also group facilitated youth soccer and basketball teams in elementary, middle, and high schools in Brooklyn, NY for two and a half years from 2016- 2019 during my graduate studies at Long Island University where I received a Masters in Exercise Science. Dr. White, who has a Ph.D. in the field would mentor me every other week at Long Island University. We would have conversations about dynamics when facilitating a workshop, new books and research in the field and how to design engaging activities. As a personal trainer, I worked at Ramapo college from 09/2013 – 05/2014 and Gold’s gym in Teterboro from 06/2013 to 08/2013. The athletes that I worked with include track and field runners, swimmers, and soccer players. We would work on improving skills such as running technique, stretching, and technique on high knees, A-skips, and mountain climbers.

Furthermore, as part of my graduate studies in Exercise Science at Long Island University, I facilitated youth teams to improve their mental and physical skills from 09/2016 – 05/2019. My studies involved researching scientific journals on topics such as improving group comradery and reading articles on how to combine scientific evidence and creating fun games that teach the athletes to critically think while doing drills in their sport. In addition, my colleagues and I also worked with their parents at workshops where the purpose was to help them with time management, interact with other parents and the coaching staff, and assist them with the responsibilities of being a sports parent.

Moreover, I also have a 2nd Master's Degree in Mental Health and Counseling which also enables me to help clients improve their self-talk, communication and interaction skills, and self-attainment of creating, pursuing, and achieving goals.

My coaching and safety certifications include a Personal Training Institute of America (PTIA) certification, CPR Certification, and I am presently pursuing my Certified Mental Performance Coach (CMPC) certification. The PTIA certification involved training my colleagues, attending workshops, and passing a test. The CPR certification entailed performing CPR on my classmates as well as passing a test. The CMPC certification involves interacting with a mentor on a weekly basis, passing graduate classes, and facilitating workshops.

The ages that I specialize in and have experience teaching is youth athletes to adults. My experience includes instructing the youth on building comradery, being an effective leader, and how to do exercises such as skips and high knees. Moreover, I have experience teaching adults physical skills such as improving their lifting form, proper running techniques, and dynamic stretches.

- Educated and instructed groups on proper running form and dynamic stretches
- 800m and 1600m runner
- Captain on a long-distance team
- Experienced with long-distance running, marathon running, and sprinting
- Simultaneously ran Track & Field while maintaining a 3.1 GPA

Generally a session with me would include:

1. We would work on dynamic stretches such as lateral running, lunges, and leg swings for around 10 minutes.
2. The workout would include a- skips, high knees, and straight legs for two sets of twenty yards for 45 minutes.
3. The last 5 minutes would explain how we could incorporate what we learned into the next session.

A typical session with me would be carefully tailored towards the individual’s personal goals and I would provide them with a well-researched challenge based on their skill level and long-term goals as well as a suggested food plan that includes individualized micronutrients and macronutrients.

I can’t say enough about my experience with Coach Frank. He’s personable, comfortable to be around, knowledgeable, and a seasoned track pro.  Furthermore, he is always available to talk about correct dynamic stretching form, running posture, and nutrition advice to enhance my speed and agility.  The session included dynamic stretches, warmups, and a workout to help me improve my times with 800m and 1600m.  I would highly recommend Frank!!
