More About Coach Fernando

I played professional baseball for over 15 years and I have trained youth in my home country of DR and in my current home, Sarasota, FL. My focus is youth ages 8 and up but I can instruct at any level.

I played with Chicago White Sox professionally and was chosen to participate in the instructional league. I was also chosen to play in the All Star game. My batting average was .300. During my career playing professionally in Venezuela, I hit 12 homeruns in 20 games.
When playing with the White Sox, I played beside Carlos Lee when he was 3rd in the lineup and I was 4th. Also, followed Joe Crede in the batting lineup.

I played right field as well at center field most of the time before and after I became PRO baseball player with Chicago. I was moved from right field to the center field because my ability to play better defense and big increase in my speed which I accomplished through hard work and dedication. I understood that if you love what you do and train with someone like me who loves baseball and played it, you can only become better everyday and nothing else.

All athletes get a thorough evaluation and assessment to ensure a customized program designed to take their game to the next level. One to One or Group training coupled with a mentoring program give my clients the edge to make it to the big league. Sessions start with physical drills then specific skill training ending with mentoring on physical and mental fitness.

I look to maximize my client's strengths and minimize their weaknesses by observing the skills that are effortless and then we perfect them to ensure rapid progress.

Extreme Baseball Major League Fundamentals:

Specifically, hitting drills are broken down into several areas, including but not limited to, common load mistakes of baseball hitting mechanics, how to hit home run baseball drill, how to fix dropping back shoulder, how to fix pulling off the ball, how the MLB players keep their heads down, how to create a sure powerful swing, how to load for a blazing bat speed drill, how to stay inside the ball drill, how to maximize leg strength, and how to perfect hitting mechanics.

Other specialties; Baseball outfield drills; how to receive and throw as an outfielder, outfield footwork and fly ball drills. Baseball infield drills; infield series of posture and footwork, infield triangle drills, "Ozzie" Smith drill, double play feeds & pivots, and shortstop drills.

Coach Fernando is doing a great job with My 15 year old son. Many coaches have tried to get my son to use his hips when swinging the bat but Coach Fernando explained it to him in such a way that we actually saw improvement. We Will definitely use Coach Fernando again When we are back In Florida!!

Coach Fernando took my sons (12 and 10) for a hitting lesson at Extra Innings.
He started off from zero, with them hitting off a T to improve their stance. He was patient and explained so much to them- he broke the swing down into small steps and had them work through those steps until he was throwing them balls and they were hitting CORRECTLY and consistently.
We will absolutely be back!

Hands down to coach Fernando. My son is a different person since he started with coach Fernando. My son's swing now has great mechanics and completely different than before. Now he understand how to swing and the connections btween each steps. He had problems throwing the ball and Coach Fernando took care of that. After reading the reviews,we selected Coach Fernando hoping he would be able to help our high school aged grandson who was in a slump coming from a season where he had broken his nose twice while playing baseball.Coach Fernando listened patiently to our concerns and worked around his schedule to accommodate our needs.
