My sons played baseball at Rancho Verde High School in Moreno Valley when Coach Ernie Ramirez oversaw the development of the baseball program and the young men of that school. After being a varsity assistant for several years at RVHS, Coach Ramirez was named the head coach. During his time as a Varsity Baseball coach, the program has blossomed. The Mustangs qualified for the C.I.F. playoffs during the 2001 and 2002 seasons. That marked the first time that Rancho Verde qualified directly for the playoffs (not as an at-large birth) in back-to-back years. The baseball program was also able claim additional accomplishments as well. Coach Ramirez played a strong role in the academic success of his players, not merely reminding student athletes of their responsibility, but overseeing tutoring sessions within the program.
