More About Coach Eric

I have coached for seven years at West Torrance High School in Cross Country and Track as well as I have been giving private training at End Results Health and Wellness. I recently started my own personal training service out of my home gym called Z32 Athletics. I am an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and have my bachelors degree in Kinesiology. My specialties include strength and conditioning, form analysis, top speed and acceleration, and injury prevention. I typically work with athletes aged 10-23 but I have experience with training people of all ages, even up to age 85!

I was a Division 1 Track athlete at Cal State University, Fullerton after running for four years at West Torrance High School. As an athlete I ran in the top ten fastest times for my event in high school, as well as received accolades for athletic performance. As a coach at West, our cross country team has been a multiple time CIF Finals championship winning team as well as a state championship winning team. In track we have had multiple CIF Finalists and a few winners and podium finishers as well.

For runners I start with warm up drills, dynamic stretches, form drills, then typically will have a speed workout one day and an endurance one on another. Finish with a cool down and stretching. A few times a week I do post-workout lifting sessions. I emphasize and teach safe lifting practices that will keep athletes healthy as well as improve strength and conditioning. I have great attention to detail. There are lots of little things with running and sprinting form that can be adjusted to improve speed and efficiency.

Client Reviews

Coach Eric is awesome. He cares about his clients and their accomplishments. Great coach and person. He pushed me until I hit my goal and reminded me that I can run and to give it my all.

Coach Eric did a great job of coaching my son through technique and encouragement. My son has improved his running speed, specifically for baseball, significantly under the guise of Coach Eric. Thank you Coach!

Eric is very disciplined, professional and keeps me motivated
Will definitely recommend him

I have been working with Coach Madera for 3 months and he has helped me take huge strides to achieve my training goals. I’m reaching new heights almost every week. Whenever I come to workout I always leave feeling better than when I showed up.
I’ve had a multitude of coaches in my life and been coached under Coach Madera since 2014 and can without a doubt say he is one of the best and he will get you to your goals. Coach Madera will work just as hard as you to meet your fitness goals and will push you to be the best possible version of yourself. He’s very respectful, knowledgeable, and a great mentor.
