24th year as head coach for boys and girls track & field and cross country teams at a high school. USATF level I coach. Specialize in sprints and middle distance/long distance run training. Have coached numerous CIF high school champions in San Diego in sprints, as well as CIF finalists in middle distance events.

1 hour coaching sessions will focus on basic sprint mechanics, power exercises, speed & quickness, and warm up routines. Speed training for all sports can be very beneficial, and will greatly enhance your performance.

Athletic acheivement:
Completed - 5 marathons, 20+ half marathons, placed top 75 in Carlsbad 5000 Masters division 3 straight years, 3 half-ironmans, 30+ sprint and olympic distance triathlons, and a number of paddleboard (SUP & Prone) long distance (8+ miles) races.

Coaching achievements:
24th season as a Head Coach for both Boys & Girls High School Track & Field/Cross Country Teams.
6 league team titles, 31 league champions in track, 21 CIF champions in Track, 33 California State Meet qualifiers in Track and Cross Country.

We are new to CoachUP and weren't sure what to expect. Coach Eric met my son to evaluate his running and had a solid first session. He followed it up with a proposed training schedule with other tips on diet and stretching that my son took immediately to heart. We look forward to future sessions.

Coach Eric is an absolutely amazing person!

I have been applying to several law enforcement agencies in which each agency has a physical assessment test that must be passed to continue with recruitment. I was able to overcome almost all aspects of each agency’s obstacle course but failed to complete the courses in time due to my poor and inefficient running techniques.

I’m so happy I chose to go with Coach Eric. He’s very thorough in his training techniques. He breaks down running techniques and philosophies in a way that is easy to understand. I was able to grasp the fundamentals mentally and adapt and transform those concepts into proper and sound physical techniques/movements.

In literally two sessions I was able to vastly improve my times on the obstacle course and by the third session I broke the minimum time requirements for the first time! I have now been accepted into one of the agency’s academies and will continue to book sessions with Coach Eric to further improve my running and sprinting techniques as it will be an essential skill in my field of work.

Coach Eric did a great job with my son. I took him for a one-on-one session to help determine what might be holding my son back from finding his speed. Coach Eric did a lot of great drills to help determine what might my son improve on and he found a few key factors that needed to be addressed in order for my son to find his stride. Coach Eric was great with my 12 year old son and extremely patient with him. It was a pleasure to work with Coach Eric for our 1st session with our daughter. She plays competitive soccer for a local well known club, and we wanted her to be the fastest "her" and improve her sprint mechanics, sprint time, running form, etc. When watching him work with her, in just a short amount of time, he was able to basically "flick a switch" with her to improve her mechanics and form from start to finish. She enjoyed working with him, and she really tried to follow his guidance when making corrections. She was a sponge to his instruction, and she said she definitely would go back for more training since Coach Eric made it an instructive and pleasant experience. He even provided us with some exercises and a homework plan on paper for her to follow on her own. Eric has been a great coach to my young son (age 7) so far. He has been patient with him, treats him like an adult and gets the most out of him. Eric is also professional, easy to schedule with and is reliable. So far, he has been all I could ask for in a running coach.

Eric broke down the mechanics of sprinting to easy workable chunks and quickly pinpointed some quick technical fixes. He also provided some drills to work on at home. Highly recommended for any sport where speed/acceleration counts.

Coach Eric met with my daughter yesterday for the first time. We were impressed with his credentials and hoped he would be a good fit for her. During the first training session, he focused on working with her on the fundamentals for the races she prefers. He ran through many different drills to help her with some of her form issues. Between each round of drills, he was certain to talk her through what she was doing well, what she could improve on and offered suggestions on how she might be able to do that. He is very mild mannered and was not loud or excitable (which is a coaching style that works well for my daughter). I did not give 5 stars as we have only had one coaching session, however we are booking additional sessions with Coach Eric in preparation for Track Season. My daughter does speed and agility training 2 days a week at a facility (for the last year plus) but we weren't seeing improvement. I was referred to coach Miller by an acquaintance and thought it couldn't hurt to try out a private session.

We met with coach Miller and he evaluated and made some corrections. To see any slight improvement in one session is fantastic. My daughter was happily working hard and she said she even noticed a difference. He calmly worked with my daughters technique correcting and telling her where she was good. With girls I feel it's important that they get praise.

The next morning, mind you my daughter is pretty athletic and works out minimum 6 days a week with her team and the agility training, she woke up sore. I couldn't believe the words out of her mouth when she actually said her legs were sore and she was excited to go back again.

Eric has been coaching both my daughters and there is a noticeable increase in their speed. We've referred him to several families who have noticed the difference in spead.

My daughter is a track and field athlete. She was trained by Coach Eric Miller starting in November 2013 through June 2016 when she graduated from high school. My daughter now attends a PAC 12 University and is a member of the University's collegiate track and field team. This would have never been possible without having Coach Eric in her life.

During those 3 1/2 years under Coach Eric's training, my daughter's performance excelled on the track in the 55M, 60M, 100M, and 200M, as well in her field event of long jumping. My daughter was able to compete at a very high level for high school track and field athletes in such events as the National Jr. Olympics, California State Indoor Championships, California State CIF Outdoor Championships, the coveted Arcadia Invitational, and the Mt. Sac Relays.

We sought his professional training and guidance to help with her sprinting form, starting block technique, and overall mechanics. Coach Eric not only improved her form and techniques, he helped her understand the sprinting processes and broke down where her form (arms, head, body posture) needed to be at certain phases within the race. It wasn't about just going fast, but understanding the phases of the race and where her form should be at those phases for maximum output. My daughter is a better track athlete because of her knowledge base regarding what she has learned from Coach Eric. He is a true mentor and we are forever grateful to him.

Coach Miller is a great coach. He has an encouraging yet calm coaching style that is very positive for an athlete.
