More About Coach Elmer

At the age of four, I started playing soccer and was primarily coached by my dad. Aside from my team practices, spending one on one training with my dad really helped development my soccer skills. I have played many different positions on a soccer team, but I played forward/striker the longest in.Now, I use many of the techniques I learned from my dad as well as from other coaches I have encountered through middle school, high school, and college.

For a soccer player, regardless of the position developing great footwork is important. Along with the development of footwork, comes trapping and kicking a soccer ball. There several ways of doing each from basic to more advanced techniques.

I am opened to working with all ages and levels because I believe my knowledge of the game is proficient from playing for many years as well as from watching the sport. I am willing to work with each player and my sessions will depend on the specific position as well as "strengths" and " areas of improvement" that will vary from player to player. I can work with a player that has very minimal experience or is advanced. I truly believe I can help a player's development on the field.

My sessions will include footwork, conditioning, agility work, ball control, shooting, crossing, dribbling and some 1- on 1 games.

I have played the sport of soccer since I can recall. My first team was when I was four years old and continue playing on weekends, even when I was playing for my school teams. I played 3 years of Middle School Soccer and played all four years of varsity soccer at St. Margaret's High School. We had four consecutive playoff appearances and we reached the CIF semi-finals in 2008. At the University of California, San Diego, I played two years of club soccer in which we competed against some Division I schools like: UCLA and SDSU. Throughout my years, I played various positions depending on the needs of the team. I enjoy playing, watching, and coaching the sport that I grew up loving.

My son went to him only once so cannot really comment.

Coach Elmer was really great at communicating with my 12 yo son to find out what he wanted to improve and then giving him exercises to get there. We have only had 1 session and my son is eager for the next one.

He's a good coach. He helped my son with excellent skill. My son really enjoyed the sessions, and he's looking forward to more training. Thank you coach Elmer

I really like working with Coach Elmer. Even though I've played soccer my whole life I was lacking the skills that took me to the next level. He starts with the basics and accesses your skills from there. He will critique where I need and moves onto the next drill at my pace. He can quickly detect what I'm doing wrong and help fix it. I appreciate his patience with me and knowledge of the game. I'm excited to keep learning new techniques and strategies of the game.

My daughter has had one session so far with Coach Elmer and already I see an improvement in how she dribbles the soccer ball. He is professional and patient. My daughter enjoyed her first session and we will be booking more sessions with Coach Elmer.

My 8 year old son had his first session to work on his defensive skills and kicking. He had a lot of fun and learned a lot. He's looking forward to his next session.

I am an adult who wants to improve his skills in soccer, so I reached out to Elmer on coach up. I have had 4 sessions with Elmer and he is great! I have definitely noticed improvement in my skills. He is dedicated and committed to improving your skills from passing, dribbling, controlling the ball and shooting. He is very helpful in honing in on areas of your game that need improvement and focusing on improving them. He has a lot of knowledge of the game and he is experienced in coaching. He tailors the session to your needs and he is very interactive. I would highly recommend him.

Coach Elmer really took the time to get to know my skill level and was able to identify the areas that I need to work on. I felt challenged during the session with both conditioning and skill drills. I would recommend Coach Elmer to anyone looking to improve their soccer skills.

Coach Elmer is a terrific coach! He gives clear, progressive instruction, is challenging but encouraging, and covers all aspects of the game while emphasizing what is most important to me at my current stage of ability.

I've accomplished 4 training sessions with Coach Elmer, and I'd like to comment that he is an excellent coach who inspires a lot of confidence. He quickly found out what areas of my game needed improvement and created a training program that was tons of fun, yet challenging for me at the same time. I have seen a vast improvement in my technical skills and my approach to soccer since I started training with him. Definitely 5 Stars!!
