More About Coach Elizabeth
I coach the ages of 5 up to adults. I have worked at B Funk Dance School as a Ballet Instructor and currently work at Maryland Performing Arts Center as a Ballet Instructor/Ballet Master. I have been teaching private lessons for many years now. I am a Vaganova Technique ballerina whom trained at top notch schools whom has the education to turn anyone into the dancer the dream of, I promise that you will not regret it!
I began Vaganova-technique ballet training at an early age with the Ballet Royale Institute of Maryland. At age 11, I received a scholarship from Madame Yelena Vinogradov of the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C. I studied under the tutelage of Angelina Armeiskaya and Vladimir Djouloukhadze at the Kirov. In addition, I received private training and coaching for many years with devoted mentor Olga Tozyiakova, former Prima Ballerina at Perm Ballet, Odessa Ballet and Moscow City Ballet. With Tozyiakova’s coaching, I won the 2007 Youth America Grand Prix Scholar Award at YAGP New York City Finals, and also was a multi-year finalist with the prestigious Youth America Grand Prix competition. My dance roles include “Clara,” “Snow Queen” and “Sugar Plum” in Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, as well as Petipa’s “Coppelia,” among others. I also performed Les Sylphides with the Baltimore Ballet (Corp de Ballet) at the Baltimore Museum of Art Meyerhoff Auditorium, under the direction of Cem Catbas. Most recently, I performed the pas de deux from “Le Corsaire” with Nurlan Abougaliev, principal dancer with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and formerly of the Russian National Ballet in Moscow and Moscow City Ballet.
30 minute session: the main concentration will be barre, which is where we would concentrate on the basic ballet training.
1 hour session: the main focus within a 1 hour session would be ballet barre, slight stretching, and a little bit of center work.
1 hour 30 minute session: this will be a full ballet class with a focus mainly on technique.
2 hour session: this is the session where there will be a full ballet class and learning the Vaganova Ballet Method.
My goal is to make people into the ballet dancer they dream of!
