More About Coach Ege

I have experience coaching beginner and intermediate-level tennis players, mostly through my role at my university where I both captain the tennis team and assist with group training sessions. I’ve also led individual lessons for fellow students who are new to the sport.

Most of my coaching has been at the recreational and amateur level, focusing on technique, footwork, and match strategy. I’ve worked primarily with young adults, but I also enjoy working with children, and I’ve always found it easy to build a good rapport with them.

I don’t hold any official industry certifications yet, as I’m still a university student and currently participating in a Work and Travel program in the U.S. However, I’ve been playing since I was 5 years old, have competed in professional matches, and won my university’s internal tennis tournament.

I’m passionate about helping others improve and enjoy the game, and I bring both patience and energy to every session.

I started competing in tennis tournaments at the age of 8. Over the next six years, I participated in more than 30 junior tournaments, winning 1st place in 10 of them. These early experiences gave me a strong competitive foundation and deepened my love for the sport.

During high school, I continued to compete in inter-school tournaments, representing my school in various regional competitions.

Currently, I am a university student where I serve as the captain of the tennis team. I also won first place in my university’s internal tennis tournament. In addition to competing, I teach tennis to students at my university, helping others improve their skills and confidence on the court.

I’ve also competed in several official (professional-level) matches, and I can provide screenshots of some match results as proof of my competitive background.

A typical session with me is tailored to the client’s goals, skill level, and energy. I always start by getting a sense of what the player wants to focus on — whether it’s technique, fitness, match play, or just having fun while improving.

If the client prefers a high-intensity workout, I incorporate fast-paced drills that focus on footwork, consistency, and quick reaction times. These sessions often include basket-fed exercises, rally-based movement drills, and conditioning elements to build stamina and agility.

If the client is looking to improve their technique or fundamentals, we slow things down and focus on stroke mechanics, serve technique, shot placement, or tactical decision-making. I break down movements step by step and give constant feedback to help build muscle memory.

For those who enjoy match play or rally-focused sessions, I’m happy to rally with them, simulate point situations, and offer strategic advice during live play. I can also play full practice matches with clients who want a more competitive feel.

Above all, I aim to keep sessions motivating, energetic, and fun, while making sure every player leaves the court having learned something new and feeling more confident in their game.
