More About Coach Eddie
I have been coaching cross country and track and field for over 13 years for levels from elementary to college. I’ve been an assistant XC and track coach at United South High School, head track coach for Harmony Middle School, and head XC and Track coach for United High School. As a HS coach I have coached several regional and area qualifiers and one girls XC Team to the State meet. I have also coached 2 individuals to state in XC. I work with all ages and have trained athletes for many different events, but I have a passion for long distance running from the mile to the marathon.
As a high school runner I have been a 3x State qualifier in high school XC, 2x State qualifier in the 3200, and a one year national record holder in the steeplechase for 16 yr olds for one year. In college, I ran for the top junior college in the nation, South Plains College and places 20th at NJCAA national cross country meet as a freshmen. I also ran for Texas A&M International University and qualified to the NAIA national cross country meet.
As a client, you can expect increasing sessions of difficulty. As a distance runner building a strong base is crucial to his or her success. Sessions will involve warmups, short runs, long runs, threshold runs, intervals, repeats, and running specific strength training. A session can take 30 min to 2 hours. As fitness improves, length of workouts increase.
