More About Coach Eddie
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in Excercise Physiology/Kinesiology from the University of Kansas. I am a club level USA Weightlifting Coach and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist of the IYCA.
I have also been a high school strength and conditioning coordinator for 2 school districts and weight training instructor.
As a Head Track and Field coach our 2001 Boys Track team won the 6A Kansas State Championships.
I have worked with athletes of various sports, genders and ages. My list of former athletes includes 2 Olympic Athletes and numerous athletes at all levels of competitions and includes NFL, NBA, and MLB levels.
As an athlete:
Like most, I was a well rounded athlete. Football, baseball, track, basketball, martial arts. Strength and conditioning, especially in college, became a passion.
College: Football
Coaching: I have been a weight training, physical education and speed and strength coordinator for various school districts in the state of Kansas.
First and foremost, as a client, you must know what you want to accomplish from your workouts. Have goals in mind, both short term and long term. This will give us our goal of where we want to be. Now all we need to do is to develop the blueprint for getting there. This is the easy part. The area that is KEY now is to work the plan. Each of us develop and thrive differently. I will base everything we do by your goals, your body type, your time frame and your experience.
Every good house needs a strong foundation so we will build the basement and go towards the roof.
With All programs everything Has to begin from the ground up. My program will be no different. All successful programs will always begin ground based. This means is that you get more benefit from lifts/exercises standing than you do sitting or laying on a bench. This is one of the reasons Olympic style lifts are so effective.
I am a believer in total body conditioning. There can't be spot conditioning, ie. I want to get bigger biceps or triceps or I just want to work my abs. Your body adds and subtracts from everywhere, not just in spots.
Our workouts will be no longer than 45-60 minutes in duration but there won't be a lot of social standing around time. We have a goal, we have a plan and the only way to be successful is by doing the plan.
