More About Coach Earvin
My coaching experience is over 5+ years in private and group lessons. I train men and women of all ages and skill groups. I currently train and coach at different AAU programs in the city, TopStar Elite and Phil Handy's 94FTOFGAME Coaching Clinics. I work mostly with 6-25yrs old men and women, but also offer services outside that age range as well. I am certified under Phil Handy's Coaching Certifcation, a mentee under Ganon Baker's Mentorship program and a PPSC Movement Specialist.
I've played organized basketball all my life. I've played in High School and I do have some college experience. I've also participated in professional leagues like the ABA back in 2007-2008 and other competitive community leagues throughout the years.
I offer 1:1 private lessons and group training sessions (3 or more), focusing on basketball skills training and movement techniques. All aspects of the game can be implemented in the session, from ball-handling and dribbling, player movement, ball movement, passing and dribbling. Depending on the need of the athlete or group, a typical session starts with a warm up, ball handling/dribbling drills, the area of focus, and then game situational (structured play) drills with shooting and finishing.

Ezekiel Crawford (Testimonial)
I’ve only been working with Earvin for a short amount of time but we have already made tons of improvement. As a pro the foundation of fundamentals are already there so I was searching for specific instructions to help elevate my game. I struck gold when I started working with Earvin. He explains every drill thoroughly and critiques the necessary details for improvement. Thanks for everything Earv!!
David & Claudia Mabrie (Testimonial)
As parents, we couldn’t be more grateful for Coach Earvin. He’s been working with our son David on basketball skills for over a year, and the progress has been incredible. Not only is he fun, motivational, and deeply knowledgeable about the game, but he’s also incredibly responsive and proactive when it comes to scheduling sessions—making it easy for busy families. David’s confidence and ability have grown tremendously. A year ago, he was too intimidated to try out for the local AAU team. Now, after working with Coach Earvin, he completed tryouts and made the team! As David puts it, “He’s passionate, inspiring—everything you would want from a coach!
Owen Burke (Testimonial)
I have been working with Coach Earvin for about a year. He has helped me get my shot together and has helped me learn shift moves and how to breakdown the defender better. He has helped improve my confidence a lot and knows what to say to make your game better. I always look forward to our weekly sessions.
Karen Joffe (Testimonial)
Coach Earvin is an amazing coach and person. Not only has he greatly improved my son's game, he has been a mentor and great role model. He has helped build up my son's confidence both on and off the court. We are grateful to have found him and highly recommend him.
Max Wechsler (Testimonial)
Coach Earvin has really helped me to improve my game, from fundamentals to game theory. His commitment, passion, and respect for basketball is reflected in an ability to teach people with a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and skills. I appreciate his approach to teaching, building on blocks of knowledge, drills, and personal development to achieve a higher understanding and execution of the game.
Jane O'Leary (Testimonial)
Earvin is not just coaching kids basketball! He’s teaching them to be better people and more disciplined in all areas with many life lessons. I highly recommend Earvin to coach and mentor your kids- you will get more than just a great basketball coach!
Acoya Dioquino (Testimonial)
I worked with Coach Earvin during my sophomore through senior years of high school. After years of weekly training sessions, I can honestly say that EJ is truly one of a kind. He elevated not only my physical abilities on the court, but also my mental strength and fortitude off the court. Even now almost a decade later, I know he’s still someone I can reach out to for advice. I’d 100% recommend his training to anyone looking to improve as an athlete.
Shawn Hill (Testimonial)
I can truly say Earvin’s attention to detail and love for the fundamental’s are what separates him from the average coach. Having seen the development of my son’s progress over a two year period was remarkable. His training practices and more importantly his wisdom will take any player to the next level. I highly recommend Earvin as a coach but even more so as builder of character.
James Elliot (Testimonial)
If you are looking for a basketball trainer or a strength and conditioning coach, I strongly recommend Coach E as we know him. Not only has he trained my son to play at the highest level, pushed him out of his comfort zone, and mentored my son. Coach E put in 4 plus years with my son James, helping him win 3 championships for his school and play AAU as a standout player. We went through the toughest of times Covid, and he always had time for my son. E is not just a trainer to us but family. I appreciate you, Coach E...
