More About Coach Dylan

Most of my coaching experience has been at the youth and high school prep levels through camps, but I’ve worked with athletes aspiring to play college baseball and beyond. As a current college athlete, I also bring real-time knowledge of the collegiate game to my coaching.

I currently play collegiate baseball at the NCAA Division III level for Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, where I’m a two-way player, competing as both a pitcher and a first baseman. As a freshman, I threw a high volume of innings, earning immediate trust from the coaching staff and gaining valuable collegiate experience early on. Prior to college, I was a multi-year First Team All-District selection at both pitcher and first base, and I was recognized as Rookie of the Week in my conference during my first year at Johnson & Wales. These honors reflect my consistent performance, versatility, and impact on the field throughout my career so far.

Here’s a general breakdown of what an hour-long session might look like:

0:00–0:10 – Dynamic Warm-Up & Arm Activation
We’ll start with a full-body dynamic warm-up and light cardio to get loose, followed by band work and arm care exercises to activate key muscles and prevent injury—especially important for pitchers.

0:10–0:20 – Skill-Specific Fundamentals
Depending on the position or focus area, we’ll go into targeted drills:
• Pitchers: flat ground work, balance drills, glove-side command, or breaking ball grip refinement
• First Basemen: footwork around the bag, picks, stretches, and double-play transitions
• Hitters: tee work, short bat drills, and mechanics clean-up in the cage

0:20–0:45 – Game-Speed Reps & Live Situations
We’ll increase intensity here, working on executing skills under pressure.
• Pitchers: bullpen sessions, sequencing, simulated counts
• Hitters: front toss, live BP, timing and approach
• Fielding: real-time throws and defensive reps

0:45–0:55 – Conditioning & Baseball-Specific Agility
Quick burst drills like ladder work, base running sprints, and reaction training. Everything is built around movements that translate directly to in-game performance.

0:55–1:00 – Cool Down & Player Feedback
We’ll wrap up with light stretching, recovery breathing, and a quick breakdown of what we worked on, what looked good, and what to focus on next time.

Each session is adjusted based on what the player wants to improve—whether that’s refining a pitch, developing approach at the plate, or just staying sharp during the offseason. My goal is to make sure every athlete walks away with practical tools they can use in games.
