More About Coach Durell
I have been a football coach for the last 10 years all at the youth and Semi-Pro level. I have a 49-24 record, making it to the playoffs every year. I have also coached two team in the Battle in Rocky Top, a youth football national tournament, where we came in second place. In the spring I normally would hold a camp for the kids in the league to prepare them for the next season as well. I love coaching, I love football, but most of all I love helping the kids reach their maximum level.

I played defensive tackle/defensive end all four years of high school at Blackman High School. I was selected for the All-Region Team and All-District Team in 2003, a Player of the Week in 2003, and a Player of the Month in 2003. I received a scholarship to play football in college. I played one year of college football at Lambuth University before I had an ankle injury that ended my college career. And I also played three years with the Smyrna Dawgs semi-pro team.
I am here to provide the highest quality skills training, systems, and services coupled with ultimate customer service. We provide athletes and parents the highest level of instruction and information, personalized service to athletes, and knowledge they need to advance their training programs in order to excel to their fullest ability and knowledge to be the ultimate football player. I accelerate understanding and execution of each player’s primary movements (mechanics) while helping them develop the ability to self-correct, not self-destruct under pressure. This goal is achieved through a simple process of Installation, Implementation and Application competition of the training content that I provide.
I begin by teaching the primary movements (mechanics) of each position using a common language, non-negotiable, and universal truths that sequentially order that movement’s execution toward the desired changes. This segment is not about an information transfer, it's about permanent transformation through building block learning supported by compelling arguments, science and biomechanics that result in accelerated understanding. I continue accelerated athlete self-discovery and feel by isolating the most common primary movement variables through simple drill repetition. The goal is to convert the teaching of clearly delivered installation thoughts to an informed state using measurable feedback from the results of simple drills & body shapes. This is done through drills that isolate primary movement while keeping other things constant.

Coach Durell is a great coach. he knows the techniques that you need to work on. He will make you a better athlele!
Ethan Hunt / Player in Smyrna Youth Football (Testimonial)
He is not there to tell the us how good we are and pamper us. He is there to make us better and hold us accountable for our effort. Those that have the true desire and work ethic to improve return for another session. The others don’t.
Aaron Hunt / Player at Stewarts Creek High School (Testimonial)
Coach Durell Fain far exceeded my expectations. Not only did he deliver on everything listed in the description on his page, but he truly went above and beyond. Nowhere on your page did it say that you would spend time discussing recruiting– even opening yourself up to discussing personal experiences related to your own experience as a player in this situation. This was only one of several “impromptu” sessions (none of which were advertised, none of which we “paid for”) to help us understand the process and grow from the experience. This Sir, is the epitome of above and beyond and for that I am truly grateful.
Kristin Miller / Mom (Testimonial)
We are THRILLED with what we have seen after coming to your sessions. Coming from a mom’s standpoint, I appreciate what you have done for him more than you can imagine. I know that you are hard on the him- and I think that is exactly what he needs- but on the other hand, you are able to break him down, but do an amazing job of building him back up and giving him all of the necessary feedback needed to actually improve as a player.
Skyler Miller (Player of Coach Fain) (Testimonial)
I want to thank you for the efforts made by you to teach me the fundamentals of football and of being a man. You have helped me be a better teammate and person, and I cannot fully express how much that means to me.
