A normal session begins corrective exercise specific to each client or athlete. Starting with self myofascial release (foam rolling) targeting possible overactive or tight areas causing muscle imbalances or postural dysfunction. That progresses into self mobilization of the hips, gluteal muscles, and thoracic spine to increase mobility where it is needed. From there we perform simple abdominal exercises to warm important core muscles to stabilize the lumbar spine.
Programs will vary and differ with each client or athlete's specific fitness level and goals. But once the initial corrective exercises are completed then an example programs is listed below.
Example:
17 year old High School Lacrosse Player (Goal: Increase Agility & Power)
No orthopedic or health issues and has been training for at least 1 year.
Today's Focus: Leg Strength Training
- Dynamic Warm-up: Challenging balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance, speed, and strength.
- Strength Training: Front Squat to Single Leg Dipping Bird superset (3-5 sets). Dumbbell Lateral Lunge to Single Leg Resisted Thoracic Rotation superset (3-5 sets).
- Core Development Circuits:
1. Comerford Hip Complex, Reverse Crunches, Tall Kneeling Resisted Anti Rotation Press (2-3 sets).
2. 1/2 Kneeling Manual Resisted Diagonal Patterns (PNF). Bridge with Ball Squeeze & Knee Extension. Medicine Ball Russian Twist (2-3 sets).
- Core Stability Challenge*
- Cool down: Self myofascial release (foam roll) and static stretching of specific tight/overactive areas.

Upon meeting Drew he was very welcoming to my son and I and explained what the lesson would consist of. In an effort to evaluate my sons physical capabilities, mechanics, agility, etc. he conducted multiple different stretching, movement and reaction drills. We look forward to continue our training with Drew as our schedules allow. Chip Morley

Coach Drew was great! He immediately made me feel comfortable, he's very down to earth and relatable. He is extremely knowledgeable and well versed in the science of exercise mechanics, techniques, body composition and nutrition yet very straight forward about their real-world applicaton to my workout.
I would recommend him to anyone, no mater their level or goals!

I was really nervous going to a training session. My experience in the past with trainers was really negative, but I knew I needed help to get myself back to where I want to be and to do what I want to do, and I'd heard really great things about him. Drew's overall energy was positive and immediately put me at ease. I loved that he taught as we went through the session. Can't wait for the next one!

Drew laid out a great workout plan for me after his initial assessment. He corrected my form on several exercises and gave my a customized program based on my goals. After our session, Drew followed up with several emails with pictures showing the correct form and technique of the exercises in my program. He also sent me a schedule for my workout the following week with things that I could do on my own. I highly recommend Drew to anyone looking for a great workout on the Cape.
