I played point guard and shooting guard for Duncan High School 1989-1992 (2A). Region champions and went to state playoffs in 1992. Played basketball from youth through Middle School, Freshman, JV and Varsity. Have attended several individual and team camps across Southern Arizona and New Mexico.

A shooting program will begin with an overall evaluation of a players talent and potential. We would follow that up with a fundamental breakdown of the shot from feet to hands, and work to develop a program to build muscle memory that the athlete will follow between sessions. As we progress, we will incorporate more complex movements until.the player is working off the dribble and creating space for the shot. Much can be accomplished in a single session, but the key is to give muscle memory drills to do in between sessions, and refine the shot and footwork each time. As the player improves, the drills increase in complexity using crossovers, dribbling skill work, pass and relocate shooting, etc. Below is an outline of an initial session.

Shooting Plan Session 1 description
10 Minutes: Introduction and basic skills evaluation
10 Minutes: Hand placements and shadow shooting
10 Minutes: Foot placement and timing
10 Minutes: Form Shooting with guidance and correction
10 Minutes: Shooting from moving (catch and shoot) footwork.
5 Minutes: Dribble to shot
5 Minutes: Homework for Session #2

Client Reviews

(no details provided)

Coach Case has coached me from my sophomore year through my senior year and has never disappointed. He's trained me to not only be a better basketball player but made me an inspirational and motivating leader on and off the court.
Coach Case has made me fall in love with basketball. He runs a fun and intense practice and prepares us well for competition. He invests in every player both on and off the court. Our team cannot wait to play under Coach Case again next year.
Donald is one of the most influential mentors and role models in my life. I would not be the player I am today without him. His competitive spirit is contagious, and pushes me to be the best player I can be both for him and my team.
