More About Coach Dirin
I train basketball players from 5th grade through the collegiate level, focusing on two areas: foundational skill development for players building their game, and game translation training for skilled players whose work isn’t showing up in competition. I work with individuals and small groups of 2–4 players in the Carmel and Indianapolis area.
I played college basketball at the Division I level at Western Illinois University and at the Division II level at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. I am a graduate of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis, one of Indiana’s premier high school basketball programs, where I was a sectional champion.
Every session starts with an assessment of where the player is. For developing players, we build movement patterns, ball manipulation under pressure, and efficiency of motion — the foundation that actually transfers. For skilled players, sessions are constraint-led and live rep based — 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 scenarios that simulate real game situations so training directly carries over to competition. No cone drills, no isolated moves out of context.
